We drove up to Delaware to meet up with Leslie's
cousins Edith and her daughter Cherni. We
visited with them twice in our hotel room. On our return trip
we stopped at Rehoboth Beach, Maryland for a
stretch. This was Gaby's
second time at the beach (Hawaii was her first) and Danny's fourth (in addition to HI he has been
to the beach in Brazil and California - but two trips to Israel and no
beach there yet). Gaby made a friend to play with for 15
minutes.
Cousin Jonny came by to play in the playroom and
hang out in the living room
during his short visit to the east coast before starting up his sophmore
classes at Indiana University. He came over with his mom,
Tia Sylvia.
We finally went to the Montgomery County Fair on the last
day it was open. Besides seeing animals we saw acrobats and
cow patty tossing(!). The kids went on some rides. Gaby really
enjoyed the merry go round (Danny sat on a bench where
he wouldn't be tossed up and down). The county firemen gave away
hats while Danny was sleeping. On our way
home we stopped at Hadley's Park, about a mile from our home. Danny is a
real swinger. When we got home from the fair the kids got
comfortable. Danny was being silly
and covering his mouth with paper.
Shortly after, Leslie's cousin Giora came for a visit
during his vacation in the US from Israel. Giora generously babysat Gaby
at the pool for about two hours (while mommy was on the
computer). Gaby really enjoyed herself. Danny enjoyed
having Giora around too. Gaby tried
to call Daddy after swimming. Besides hangin' at
home the grownups (and Gaby) also went out to lunch at
several restaurants (Thai, Moroccan, and DaveandBusters.com) over the
the few days visit while Danny was at
daycare. Giora took a family shot of us before
continuing on his travels.
Danny prefers his castle with slide to the pool.
Danny also likes to go through the fence (not the gate) to get
out to the park/school yard behind our house.
Our first metro ride together was to the zoo. Just as
we left the zoo, this stroller broke but, Helio managed
to get the kids back to the metro stop regardless of
the missing wheel.
On Rosh Hashana (Jewish New Year's) we went over to
cousin Lenore's and Si's house in Virginia. We met Si's
son, Erich and family - Barbara, Danny, and Sarah. On
our way home we saw a couple of deer on
our street.
