Winter Break, 2001

We stayed most of our two weeks in Campinas at Helio's parents house. Cousin Jonny also came from the U.S. to visit. We went to the beach, but mostly spent time around the hotel pool. Gaby was able to swim on her own with the assistance of water wings. Gaby met her first cousin, Julia, who is just 1.5 months younger for the first time about 6am. Their dads' Helio and Celso were up too to sing Portuguese songs and play. Julia's mom, Silvia got her hair brushed by Gaby. Later, Tia Diana and Tio Bura spent some time playing with the girls. Gaby asked Aunt Diana to make another cousin to play with.Debbie (Jonny's sister) enjoyed some guitar playing from Bura. Jonny also played guitar on the trip. Gaby had some time alone with Vovo (grandpa) Miguel while he sang some nursery rhymes to her. Soon Vovo (grandma) Mimi also joined in. Gaby really enjoyed attention from her Vovos. Gaby and Julia got together again on Silvia's (Helio's sister) birthday and for finally on our final day there. Here is Helio with niece Julia and Silvia with niece Gaby. When getting ready to go to Bura's family's party on Christmas eve Gaby decided she needed some stuffing. Gaby really enjoyed playing poolside. Danny spent endless hours in the pool including lots of time with cousin Jonny. Most of all this was a special visit with Vovo Miguel.
