I agree,

Sinead lives a very public life in a way. Sharing sometimes more
than most would want with the public. And considering all that Sinead has
been through and the lack of privacy in some ways, she has handled it well
most of the time. I would think that that kind of public spotlight would add
a lot of pressure to someone's life no? my .02 cents anyway.

Thanks

Sinead has been diagnosed with bi-polar disorder; she has been medicated for
it; and she has, at times, failed to see the forest for the trees because of
her illness and her ego. So what? We all do silly things from time to time.
She's done them in the public eye...only dif.

HEADLINE: IRISH MUSIC SPECTACULAR FOR NATIONAL TV

BYLINE: Paul Martin

BODY:

BBC Northern Ireland is set to produce the biggest music show of the
year on national television on May 29.

Mike Edgar will produce, and possibly host, the Hot Press Uncovered spectacular
live from the HQ Hall of Fame in Dublin on May 29.

The show will bring together the biggest collection of Irish music talent
ever assembled.

Stars including Sinead O'Connor, The Undertones, Ulster band Therapy
and other big names are already confirmed to take part.

The show, part of BBC Music Live, a celebration for the millennium, will
be broadcast between 8-10pm and reach an audiance of up to 20 million viewers.

"We're absolutely thrilled about producing this major night for Irish
music," Edgar said.

"On the back of last October's Hot Press Rock Awards this is a completely
different programme with an extremely fun and vibrant nature."

Hot Press Uncovered will not only celebrate Irish music today but will
also celebrate the history of the music magazine itself.

Stars, who have all featured on the covers of Hot Press magazine over
its 23 -year history, will gather in the HQ on the evening and will cover
songs of other people
who have also featured on the cover and inspired them on their respective
musical journeys.

Ulster group The Undertones will be making their first TV appearance
in almost two decades where they are rumoured to be opening the show with
legendary
Teenage Kicks followed by a cover version of a Them classic.

Other artists already confirmed include the Chieftains and Paul Brady
while The Corrs, Ronan Keating and Stephen Gately are all rumoured to be
planning an
appearance, with huge TV audiences offering priceless publicity.

"It's a big coup for BBC Northern Ireland and a massive night for Irish
music," Mike added.

IF you have a minute:

Vermont needs help...

As you may know, the Supreme Court of Vermont recently ruled that committed homosexual relationships should have the same rights and privileges afforded to married straight couples.

There are over 1,000 rights that come with marriage which are currently denied to gay couples including hospital visitation/medical decisions, rights of survivorship, filing joint tax returns, etc.

This is a VERY important first step towards equality in America. However, the Governor's office of Vermont has been BOMBARDED with phone calls by anti-gay individuals opposing the recent decision--primarily fueled by the "Doctor" Laura radio program which gave out the phone number. I called the Governor's office, and spoke to the secretary, who was VERY nice but said that I was one of only a HANDFUL of callers who SUPPORT this huge step towards equal rights.

Please add your name to the following list. COPY this into a new e-mail, and send it to your friends. When the list reaches 25 people, please send it to
ltgov@leg.state.vt.us(mailto:ltgov@leg.state.vt.us)

Well, I've requested unsuccessfully that my fave radio station play Sinead,
but alas, no luck. So, I'm just enjoying a chance day off due to a strike
of university employees. I've been listening to NMW and Summer's End and
thinking about Sinead, and it just struck me what a SUMMERY song NMW is. I
think this is going to be a great summer album. I can't wait to by lying on
the beach with the the blue waters of the Gulf at my feet and the sun all
bright above listening to this album and sipping on a beer. Beer. Beach.
Sinead. Ahh.

Oh, yeah. Been listening to the Ode to Billy Joe, too, which I love love
love for it's folky narrative. I just love listening to Sinead sing about
places so near my own home. Kinda earie and fabulous.

It'll be grand.

Just listened for the first time to 'Summer's End,' which will be included
on Sinead's new album. Wow. Totally Sinead and spectacular. Totally visonary
and sophisticated, sonically. Reminds me very much of "Never Get Old," for
some reason...I guess it's the complexity of the arrangements, and the
fresh, youthfulness of Sinead's voice. She sounds ALIVE again singing music
like this. She sounds fresh out of nowhere... in the best way. This song is
very very good. I never thought I'd say this (or be able to say this) but I
have a hunch that "Faith and Courage" could very well be the record that
finally equals and surpasses "Lion and Cobra." I really have this feeling.
OOoooooooo!!!!!!!

Something tells me that "No Man's Woman" has not even been officially
released yet. isn't the release date May 13th? Does anyone have reliable
information about the song's official radio relase date?

Yes! I like the sound of "No Man's Woman" as a Summer theme song.
I'm a lifelong beach person, myself! Provincetown, as a child. Fire Island,
these past 12 years. and...... Cayo Costa, on your same Gulf of Mexico,
shall be my beach now...
Where are you, Jesseca? I almost cannot imagine being far from the sea...

I was wondering,

A while ago there was on e-bay a live cd offered from an very early Sin=E9ad=
=20
show. Somebody on this list had the high bid for more then $150 or=20
something. Did that deal ever went though. Later on I saw that cd offered=20
on e-bay regularly. Did anybody ever bought it?
There was (according to the guys add on ebay) some songs on it I never=20
heard about.
And I was wondering if that was just an mistake or that it were actually=20
new" tracks.

Hey,
Yesterday after "No Man's Woman" was played on radio the DJ said the song
Sinead did with Wyclef Jean is called "Rainy day".That's all,
am not sure if this is old news.

Hi there,

Someone from the list bought that CD, entitled I Used To Be Beautiful, if
I'm not mistaken. It had a track listed as "Dreams" which turned out to be
nothing other than The Value Of Ignorance!

Cheers,

Deniz

Belle and Sebastian has a song called "The State I Am In." Probably no
relation, of course, but curious.

Hi there,

Of course, it's NOT Sinéad's picture which I'm disappointed with!! She's
gorgeous as ever, she looks so damn cool.

It's rather the design and the colour scheme that disappointed me. First of
all, I never really loved much the Rebel Song handwriting of Sinéad's name
and it seems that she'll use it for this album. Then, there's this mess of
colours; red and yellow on a b/w pic. Her head is out of proportion with the
size of the sleeve and it has a very uncool feel to it on the whole, in MY
opinion! ;-)

Glad you liked it anyway!

Cheers,

Deniz

We should all be requesting NMW from our local radio stations. I like
the sleeve. Also, who is the person who got the sleeve and track list?
Has this person heard the album? It is all so mysterious.

Hello Eduard & Others,

As good as Esprit mailing Order is (I've ordered dozens of times through
them), they're not trustable with pre-orders. They work with "hear-say" when
it comes to "to be released". My biggest example is a cd-single of Prince
they said which would be released in some months back in 1992. (Black Mutha
Fucker In The House) 8 years later I'm still waiting fore it ;-)))

Hello there!

I've already sent a message to jitr@postmodern.com but I'm not sure if it
has worked out. So please forgive me, when I "repeat myself". I was asking
if there's someone around who could tell me if there's a website where I
could download Sinéad's new song "No man's woman". I have already searched
for it in the web but couldn't find anything. Thanks a lot for your help!

Greetings from Austria

Silke

I just compared the newest font to the old ones, and it really seems to me
like it's a weird sort of mix of all 3!!! (the original one, the one that
started with Universal Mother, and the one on This IS a Rebel Song). As I
looked at the No Man's Woman sleeve, it almost reminded me of the Nothing
Compares 2 U days. Her head is shorn, which made me wonder if it's a really
old picture (unless she's shaved it recently). It also made me wonder if the
record company is trying to remind people that the bald lady who sang
Nothing Compares 2 U is back. Well, I agree with Jesseca that the picture is
very noir and cool, but I also agree with Deniz that the color scheme and
layout are not as nice as I had expected. The new font actually reminds me
of the old, old Sinead font more than anything else. Look at the "C" in
O'Connor. Strange...

(Anyway, all I really care about is the music... I'm obsessing over the font
because I'm dying to hear the album!!)

Hi there!

Can someone tell me if there's a chance to download Sinéad's new single "No
Man's Woman" on my computer? I couldn't find an audio file of the song yet.
Thanks!

Best wishes!

Silke

I actually like the NMW promo cover. It looks as if it were indeed taken
back in the very early 90's. That is not the Sinead of recent times, who
looks much older these days, if you ask me (or is it wiser?). Anyhow, Sinead
looks very much like the French legend Edith Piaf in that photo. It's a very
very French photo...a mon avis. BTW... does anyone know when the single will
be OFFICIALLY released to American radio????

Atlantic has put up a web-site for the new album!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go to
www.atlantic-records.com and search for "sinead".

The official tracklist is:

1 The Healing Room
2 No Man's Woman
3 Jealous
4 Dancing Lessons
5 Daddy I'm Fine
6 'Til I Whisper U Something
7 Hold Back The Night
8 What Doesn't Belong To Me
9 The State I'm In
10 The Lamb's Book Of Life
11 If U Ever
12 Emma's Song
13 Kyrie Eleison

There is a picture of the album cover AND a beautiful photo of Sinead
sitting on a windowsill and looking out a window. She is almost bald, which
makes me wonder if this is the same photo shoot for the No Man's Woman
single. THEN, if you click on the "biography" tab, you can see some of the
most gorgeous photos of Sinead I've ever seen!!!! They must be the new promo
photos. Absolutely lovely. I think they're all better than the No Man's
Woman photo.

The new tracklisting looks great! I must confess I'm glad Summer's End won't
be on the album ("Sometimes I feel so glad/sad" just doesn't do it for me,
though it's an okay song--I bet it will be on a b-side, along with some of
the others that were originally mentioned.)

I'm particularly eager to hear "The Healing Room". The title reminds me of
"So Different," for some reason.

Hooray hooray!

Ben

Wow, thanks Ben.

She sure is beautiful, although I must say, a couple of those photos worry me.
She seems to be getting thinner with every photo shoot. I hope she's okay.

I love the purple shirt pics; is she GORGEOUS or what?!

Ta for the URL :o)

Love, Dark

Hi there,

Thanks much for letting us about the Atlantic site, Ben! I must confess that
I'd been searching for "sinead o'connor" everyday for the last couple weeks,
with no success! ;-) It's still doesn't return any results if you search for
"sinead o'connor," so I wonder when they actually put the section there!

The new pics are truly awesome, and I must say that I like the new tracklist
better, too. Wyclef collaboration Rainy Day seems to be left out, but I'm
very eager to hear The Lamb's Book Of Life - which is a very interesting
title, really! I also bet If U Ever is be a pretty sexy R&B song!!!

Cheers,

Deniz

I'm not sure exactly, I think 5'3'' or 5'4'', I'm pretty short, but very
muscular! I'm flexing my bicep for you right now.

Thanks for the info. Did you say anything to her those times?

No, I got shy. Also, I really did not want to intrude.
I saw Sinead at The World, a club that was down in New York's East Village,
and I do believe it was her first U.S. appearance. I literally bumped into
her when we passed on narrow stairs: she was coming down incognito, in a
hooded sweatshirt to cover her telltale baldy-head, to scope out the audience.
The audience was quite small, but not because people were not interested!
Sinead wanted to do a fairly early show, because she was traveling with baby
Jake at the time. The promoters wanted Sinead to perform at a later time, so
that's what got printed on the tickets. A friend in the biz tipped me off
that Sinead was going to go on early, as she had planned, and I told as many
people as I could. So those of us who got there were able to enjoy Sinead's
first show here very comfortably, with lots of room to dance around. She was
wearing a black tutu and a leather jacket, which soon came off. The show, of
course, was exciting, and her powerful songs and singing were stimulating.
When the show had ended, we began to leave the club, down the stairs to the
lobby and the street. However, the ticket-holders who did not know to come
early were arriving, and trying to get in. It was a big traffic jam, and I
got squished next to a tall, beautiful Amazon: I looked up at her nostrils,
and realized it was Veruschka, an artist and model well-known in the
late-60's, and a long-time idol of mine.

You're lucky. I've never seen her before, I can't wait till I do.

I literally bumped into her when we passed on narrow stairs: she was
coming down incognito, in a hooded sweatshirt to cover her telltale
baldy-head, to scope out the audience.

This was probably a subconcious bump. I bet you wanted to do that on
purpose. You should have just said hi, I probably would have reacted the
same.

So Summer's end is off the track list? That's unusual, especially since it
was mentioned in the sell sheet. usually there would not be such a change
after a song was mentioned in the company's sell sheet. Oh well...I'm
certain it's gonna be the best Sinead O'Connor album of all time. I just
hope that Atlantic is ready to promote the hell out of it. Oh yeah...the
site pics were nice, though Sinead does look a little skinny and I really
don't care at all for seeing her in the priest suit. Maybe I just need to
get used to it.

You guys would make a cute couple. Very easy to kiss each other! When you
are speaking the language of love, everyone will understand. (just woke up
from a nap, can't be witty.) B-how close to Sinead were you? (wink, wink)
But I'm not sure how 1.7m converts to the king's measure.

Hi all,

I have it on good word that this virus is not a hoax. Please be careful
everyone. This virus is apparently a particularly nasty one. I got a
call from my husband at work who's job is working with computers to warn
me.

Regards,
Dark (a.k.a Maria)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is an urgent notification that a virus could infect your system

and could damage your hardware. Please DO NOT double-click any files

(.exe or script) from an un-known source. This is most specially with a

file called "LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.TXT.vbs".

VBS_LOVELETTER This VBScript is an auto-spamming worm which
spreads by sending an email message with the attached file
"LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.TXT.vbs" to all addresses listed in a user's
Outlook address list . It also propagates using mIRC by sending itself
to all users in the current channel. This virus is currently spreading
rapidly and Trend advises all customers to download the latest
pattern file (#693) or to use HouseCall, Trend's free on-line virus
scanning service, to scan and clean their PC.
http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_corp.asp for the on
line file checker. You can do a house call from there and see if you
are infected. It takes a bit of time, but well worth it. This is a
very
new virus.

This is a
very
new virus.

Hey Lion Cobra...
Well, not long ago you told us that you feel terrible and we all tried to
comfort you.
However there is one thing I totally can`t understand. Why are you so damn full
of negative feelings towards your fellows???
I know Deniz, I know Roman and I know Mars and they are all very polite and nice
lads. I wouldn`t have to refer to your insults below but I do...because I can`t
accept it when people accuse themselves so terribly. I can`t turn away and
ignore it...sorry. (I already talked about this "bitter and cold blow" of the
list with Ardeshir...) If you really admire and love Sinéad, you can`t ignore
her WAY OF LIVE which is dominated by LOVE and APPRECIATION for every human
living. Think about it, Julja

Yeah guys, chill with the negativity. If you have a problem with anyone just
show the evidence so we know what you're saying is true.
