Dear JITR-members,

I know that I am the rudest person on this planet and
I do hope that you can
forgive me. I dislike myself and I do have this
complex about myself. That
is why I like hurting other people and saying rude
things. I deserve the
reaction I get from you.
I know if I do not have to read the mail about Enzo I
do not have to. I
just like to be a jerk and I am so jealous of him for
meeting Sinead.
I am a stupid little annoying person, I know. And I do
not have a little
green monster in my pants. I am a green monster.
Just sad and pathetic and
bitter.
Sorry to everybody. Yes, I am also stupid for
thinking myself so important
for you not being rude to me. I am so insecure and
like to frighten people
with this.
Mooncaff, sorry for calling you a bitch. I am a
bitch. Little arrogant
prick. Forgive me.
Michelle, you need not shut up. Just picked on the two
of you to be nasty.
Sorry.
John, please do not kiss b*tt with me. You only have
something to say after
I have and that annoys me. Be your own person and
leave me alone. I am
unique and you irritate me!

Last to be said
Lion

=====
God commanded his angels concerning you
To protect you in all your ways
They will carry you up in their arms
To keep your foot from striking a stone
You will tread upon the lion and the cobra
You will trample the great lion and serpent

Hello,

Hey LionCobra, can't you resist the need to go to war again ???
Okay, if you wanna battle again. Why not use me for that, I'm used to it!
And have some time left since Sinead cd's on eBay doesn't give me the
millions anymore I was used to.
So to put some extra oil on the fire;

So someone wanted to stop the topic of Meeting Sinead ??? ;-)
Who could that be ? A Jalous Guy ??? ;-)
For sure it can't be the person that's throwing in the same messages every
two weeks;
"Who has her home address, it's really important?"
And; "Has anyone seen the music sheets book for The Lion And The Cobra"

!!! LET THE GAMES BEGIN !!!

BTW; Michelle;
>Y A T M R P T I K A Y A S B
meaning ??; You Are The Most Rigide Person That I Know And You Are Some
B.....
Hell what's that B ???????

Hello.
I am a relatively new member of this list and this is
my first time writing. I just can't believe the
constant bickering that goes on between some you.
What has happened? Why is this continuing? Isn't
this supposed be about SINEAD?! Consider this a plea
to stop this childish bickering. Please! I can't
stand it anymore!
Laura

Laura-

I've been silent for over a year now; the bickering will not stop. Many
have left as the evil side of human nature reigns supreme (ironically) on
this list (begun with good intentions) about a "spiritual mother." This
list is its own Fire on Babylon. There must be beauty in sadness and hate,
for it goes on...

In good will,
Lydia-

Hello JITR People,

I could not find, Sinead's, The Lion and the Cobra... The store was =
sold out practically, only three choices, and I mean only, three =
individual CD's... Count, "Three!..." I really was not too happy about =
that, but I'll try again, at another store, soon... I'll say one thing, =
she is not making enough money, the prices were too low!... Please, =
someone tell Sinead, it broke my heart?... Thanks, again Sinead, for =
Your Talents!...

So, I bought, "The Doors, Greatest Hits," CD, and, "Devo's Greatest =
Hits, Live," CD... So, so... =20
"I'm listening to, Riders on the Storm, at this very moment!..." The =
memories, comin' back...

Well!, Thank You, One and All, God Bless, Amen?... Have a Good - =

Hey, hey.

I just saw on netflix.com that March 14th is the release date for the DVD of
MTV Unplugged: Finest Moments, the finest moment of which would presumably
be Sinead's "Black Boys On Mopeds." This was supposed to have come out a
while back, so you may be skeptical, but having seen a scan of the actual
DVD cover, I now have no doubts that it will finally be released.

Nighty night. Jim.

i haven't checked my mailingbox for a long time. and, i was verrrrry
surprised to have read a lot of 'opinions'--mostly nice, but some are pretty
disturbing.

well, i know rantings have been going on for a while, and honestly, it's one
of the things i love in this mailing list. that we get to share our
'mushy-ness', our thoughts, or anything under the sun, without the fear of
being bullied and 'scolded.'

and this mailing list has been one of my sources of positive energy and
inspiration.

so, i just wonder, how come some people in this mailing list are so 'hard'
on the others? fine, some people may be realllllllllly irritating
sometimes, but does telling them to shutup do any good? i don't think so.
i strongly believe that there are gazillions of ways to tell somebody
something. and half of it must be nice, respectful, and courteous. so why
resort, immediately, to something impolite, insulting, and hurting?

anyway, i'm a little bothered at the proliferation of sinead's current songs
on the net. like, lullaby for cain and fire on babylon. aren't these songs
still available in the market? they've just been released. so i think
there's absolutely no excuse for the piracy of these songs, and others like
them. can't we limit ourselves to those songs that are absolutely
UN-available anywhere else?

positive energy to everyone.

,
xe

One of the people in my program mailed this to me. I think it's an
interesting poem, and the title of the collection that it's from is _Still
Listening_. Salmon Poetry is an Irish publishing house.

Seapoint

Mother's swimming away from shore,
the blue water sparkling around her.
She turns, waves to us,
her right arm lifted in a blessing.

I cry out but the sea picks up my words,
hurls a shower of pebbles at my feet.
Straining forward, taut as a fishing-line,
I am willing her home for nothing
so conscious as love.
Only that without her nothing works.
The Little Sisters of the Poor look after us
but the nun's been up the chimney
and the doctor roars at us to be still.

I can't eat when she goes away.
Father hangs a pheasant from the backdoor knob.
I lift him down and lay him in my doll's pram
where his putty-coloured beak
lolls sideways over the blankets. I know that later
they'll throw his pretty feathers on the fire.

My mother's arms turn like a wheel over her head,
strong from beating batter with a wooden spoon,
cranking the clothes-wringer in the yard,
slashing crosses in the soda-bread.
Her arms backstroke her body out to sea.
I can see her white swim-cap bobbing like a buoy.
It's Mother's Day --
she's rescuing herself this time.

Hi there,

>anyway, i'm a little bothered at the proliferation of sinead's current
>songs
>on the net. like, lullaby for cain and fire on babylon. aren't these
>songs
>still available in the market?

I guess you're talking about the sounds page of Universal Mother and I want
to explain now why I put those songs there if I may.

However good the quality may be, an MP3 file can NEVER give the pleasure one
can get from CD's. So I don't believe that somebody would give up buying the
original release just because he owns an MP3 file. One the contrary, I think
it kinda encourages to buy the original CD -- even more when it's Sinéad
concerned.

But for those who can't afford to buy a whole CD just for one song, I see no
harm in putting the song there for download.

And out of five MP3's, only these two are available through market (and one
is a live version); so proliferation may not be the right word to use,
really.

Just MY two cents! ;-)

Love and light,

Hi there,

Just downloaded an awesome instrumental version of I'm Not Your Baby from a
U2 fan site. It's very close to the album version but with more distortions.
No Sinéad vocals, but interesting anyway...

Love and light,

Deniz

Hi there,

For some time, I've been working on this new project called Ultimate Article
Shrine -- which will be a very extensive archive of Sinéad O'Connor articles
from her early days to the current affairs.

So far I have completed the first two sections (over 70 articles);

- The Lion And The Cobra Era
- I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got Era

Each section contains album and concert reviews, interviews and articles on
various other things like the national anthem event and such.

All articles are provided by our article wizard, Christian Petrulio. (Thank
you! ;-) )

And now how to proceed to the page:

Simply go to Universal Mother and choose the articles section. There you'll
find a huge link that will take you to Ultimate Article Shrine.

A seperate URL and a short redirect will come soon!

Enjoy!!!

Deniz

Thank you for humoring my bitterness---whoever it was,
thank you :)

Just want to share a little story. There is this girl
named Kelsey Turman that goes to my school. She
shaved her head. Everyone is talking about it "have
you seen her......" "look at her"......I LOVE IT...she
obviously did it to get attention...but the fact I
like about it most is...if I guy were to shave his
head, no one would care, but she's a girl...I can't
stop staring at her...she's pretty

Speaking of kids in school . . .

I got in on MYIQ at .175 last week. It closed today at .30. See ya at .75.
Also, once the value of MYIQ is equal to the value of VSTI (currently at
.63), I'm going to move my entire MYIQ into VSTI.

Peace,

John

Hi all,

For all those who jhave the chili 1990 amnesty concert with sinead. You=20
might have noticed thatsienad speaks a lot of spannish there and that in=20
the end there is even a pryer.
By the jitr I got in contact with Gabi who happens to live in chili and I=20
send her also a copy of the show. She translated for me the spannish parts=
=20
from sinead into english and I though it is very inytresting so I cutand=20
pastet that here.

Thanks a lot Gabi,,,,,,,,,

TRANSLATION OF THE CHILI SHOW 1990

OK. Here goes what I promessed. There are several parts where she speaks in=
=20
spanish, one of them i've just told you. I thought you may want me to=20
translate all of them and not only the last one (which is not a prayer,=20
you'll see). I'll tipe first the transcription in spanish of what she says,=
=20
and then the translation in english:
- Before singing Three Babies, she says this: "Esta noche quiero dedicar=20
mis canciones a las mujeres de Chile. Ustedes son una inspiraci=F3n para=
 m=ED."=20
=3D "Tonight I want to dedicate my songs to the women of Chile. You are an=
=20
inspiration to me."
- Also, she dedicates I am Stretched... to Rodrigo Rojas ("Esta canci=F3n=20
est=E1 dedicada a Rodrigo Rojas"). I don't know really who he is. But I can=
=20
try to find out.
- The last part, the "prayer" wasn't really a prayer: "Quiero saludar [a=20
las] mujeres presas pol=EDticas. Nosotros queremos pedir un minuto de=20
silencio por los que cayeron en este estadio." =3D "I want to greet (or to=
=20
salute) the women prisoner (or in jail) for political reasons" (I don't=20
know if that's right said in english)
And then: "We want to ask for a minute of silence for those who died in=20
this stadium." The stadium is the Estadio Nacional de Chile, where the=20
concert took place. There, during the dictatorial government of Pinochet in=
=20
Chile, the political prisoners, better said, the missing people (because=20
they where kidnapped from their houses and there was no record of where=20
they were), after being tortured, were brought there and killed in that=20
very stadium by the militars. Houndreds and even thousands of people where=
=20
killed there, where Sin=E9ad and all this crowd were, that is why she said=
=20
that in their memory

Have been catching up on mail. See that some things have not changed at
all. Still great to see that all are all alive and well. Some more than
others because of their temper. LOL.

Hi all,

Just wanted to say that I don't live in Chile but in Argentina (near Chile);
anyway we share this painful part of the history with Chile and many other
countries in Latin America, where thousands of people where also killed.
OK, just a word,

Thanks,
Gabi.

Hey Jumpers,

Has anyone ever come across a double cd of Vol 2: Release! I just found =
out that has a sticker of the front that says "Two CD's enclosed special =
radio edit Check out hidden enhanced track!"

The bonus cd just appears to be the same version that is contained on =
the Stigmata soundtrack but i have compared them yet! Also the Stigmata =
DVD came out this week and it includes a music video.......why it would =
be of Natalie Imbruglia!!! II DON't EVEN KNOW!!

Anyway, I haven't been able to get the enchanced portion of this cd to =
ever work, so any help would be much appreciated!

All the Best,

Ken

SHANE DRUG CHARGE DROPPED...BUT SO'S FRIENDSHIP WITH SINEAD

A heroin possession charge brought against Pogues singer Shane MacGowan
after Sinead O'Connor tipped off police has been dropped.
The wildman was arrested in November last year at his home in north-west
London after an act of "tough love" by his former friend.

Sinead – now known as Mother Bernadette – dialled 999 after apparently
finding him slumped on the floor of his flat.

Tough love lost Sinead a friend
Threat to sue Sinead

"I love Shane and it makes me angry to see him destroy himself selfishly in
front of those who love him," she said.

MacGowan denied being a junkie and threatened to sue the Nothing Compares To
You singer.

He was charged with possessing a small amount of the class A drug in
January, but the charge has been formally discontinued at Highbury Corner
Magistrates Court.

This fellow is lucky because the charges have been dropped BUT
he is very unlucky to have a friendship messed up by choice.

Thanks Eduard for the translation.
I have that concert, too. (If I only have the chance to have Sinead so close
to Uruguay again... I was too young and with no many on those days of
Amnesty concert...)
I just would like to say that Sinead's spanish is pretty awful although it
is lovely to hear it from her. She's like a child learning to speak.

But it is great to remember what she said (or read) on that concert, because
those terrible things that happened on Chile with kidnapped and missed
people, also happend in all latinamerican countries.

PS: The country is not chili it's ChilE.

bye,
GUS

Hello to everyone. I am a new member. Well, I have been receiving messages
from the Sinead O’Connor list for several weeks, but I haven’t had enough
time to post to the list for the first time. I have been longing for doing
it. I love being here. I am a girl from Spain.
Oh, man, I recorded that Chile concert some years ago, when it happened. I
stayed until very late at night with my younger sister in order to tape it.
Yes, Gustavo, you are right, Sinead’s Spanish is pretty awful, but it is OK.
I remember that when she was going to play “The last day of our
acquaintance”, she said : “This song is for the women (or little ladies)
whose boyfriends don’t treat them right (or well, or properly, literally is
well. In Spanish = ‘esta canción es para las señoritas cuyos novios no las
tratan bien’)
I am not very good at introducing myself, so... I will stay here, listening
to you and longing for seeing Sinead playing live.
Kind regards

* i guess, it's true for a lot of countries around the world. here in the philippines, most especially during the marcos' martial law, whew! it's really terrible. people just disappeared.

just wondering: will sinead ever come here? mmm, i'd surely be there... front row.

damnit! i can't wait for the month of may!

Hi,

I was just watching vh1 (hall of fame week)

Does anyone know when Sinéad will be up for induction
or consideration?...how many years from now?...

Just wondering..she's been singing for quite
sometime....

I heard (old) raglan road for the first time a week ago on the local radio
station. Could anybody tell me on what cd it is available and maybe tell me
more about the song.

Bye

from a magazine called RHYTHM:

james mcnally quote:
"sinead o'connor helped us with that. Sinead had been working with
larla---this was in november of 98---and we had one track left. it was
untitled and unstructured. she came in, asked to see a picture of jo,
scribbled some lyrics onto a page and went in. along with n'faly's and
larla's vocals, the three languages were there---english, gaelic and
mandinka. and suddenly her vocals lit up the place with some very strange
spiritual feelings for that cold november night. if you listen to the lyric
itself you'll almost feel as if it's coming from jo, saying to shake
yourself up, get on with your life and be happy for him. suddenly a release
of grief, of guilt, came out of that night. we were completely speechless in
the studio for about an hour. that song was the turning point for the whole
band and we had to call it 'release'.

...we all believe that sometimes jo comes to visit us on the stage. it's a
very powerful story, and sinead was very gracious to give us something
completely from her own heart. then she packed us off, and we haven't seen
her since."

i've seen similar comments about this song posted but i just thought i'd copy
this out for those who care.

cheers---
claudia

Yeah, I totally agree. This also applies for Turkey, where there has been a
considerable amount of dissappearence and other inhuman treatment cases in
the last two decades and unfortunately it's continuing to do so, though at
smaller rate.

But it's just great to see how some artists are sensitive to this kind of
things -- like U2 putting a liner note the the Pop album or Sinéad releasing
My Special Child in order to draw attention to Kuridsh refugees.

As Aung San Suu Kyi puts it very right, those fortunate enough to live in
societies where they are entitled to full political rights should reach out
to help the less fortunate in other parts of our troubled planet.

Love and light,

Deniz

I don't know who sent that email using my address, but
if you're doing it again....please stop. I know
exactly how you're doing it. You're probably using
netscape or IE email. All you have to do is change
your mail server settings to make it appear to come
from my own address....it's lame...please stop

We shall all wonder, for awhile. I think a lot depends on what direction=20
Sinead has taken with this new album. Will she be passionate, profound? =20
Sweet and safe? Will she have at last concentrated on the quality of her=20
songwriting? Has she explored her emotions and her foundation enough to=20
reflect from a wiser position of experience? =20
My own hope and expectation is that this time Sinead will turn her gaze=20
outward and reflect upon the world outside of herself and her own feelings.=20=
=20
She has the potential to be a truly great, visionary songwriter.

Hey Jumpers,

I found this in my travels.....

Shane McGowan: A legend in his own lifetime and author of some truly =
memorable songs, Shane McGowan and friends performed 'Angel Of Death', =
(the very last song ever written by Hank Williams). He later spoke to =
Pat about the current [and public] row between himself and Sinead =
O'Connor. He referred to the incident, his use of heroin and alcohol, =
and the reasons behind his antipathy towards the priesthood. Shane's =
parents Therese and Maurice were in the audience. They both conveyed to =
Pat their love and support for their son. Therese said the actions of =
Sinead were not those of a friend, whilst Maurice discussed the reasons =
behind his belief that alcohol is a far more dangerous drug than heroin. =
In spite of his current difficulties, Shane is working on a new album =
'20th Century Paddy', which is about the Ireland he knows through his =
grandparents and their family=20
