be one of the artists to participate in a 24-hour, live concert to be
broadcast worldwide to welcome the new millenium. has it been finalized?

where can we possibly all the infos needed? like, what channel or internet
site in what country should be hook up to?

thanks.

Hi there,

Here are the lyrics to the James songs Sinéad contributed to:

VERVACEOUS

Drifting through the atmosphere
Through the afterglow
Witnessing one thousand lies
Are blown, where the wind blows

Falling in between the lines
Never fitting in
Someone tells me what's my crime
Too thin
I'm too thin

Due to come back down due to come back down
Don't wanna, don't wanna land
Due to come back down, due to come back down
I don't wanna, don't wanna land
Don't wanna, don't wanna, land
Lie
Lie

This time I've a staring role
Hide the shape I'm in
I'm too old to sacrifice for gold, and skin
For gold
and skin
For gold
For gold

I don't want to come back down, don't want to land
Down, don't want to come down, down don't want to land
Down, don't want to come down, down don't want to land
Down, don't want to come down, down don't want to land

Drifting through the atmosphere
Floating through this land
Sifting through one thousand years
of sand
All sand

Drifting through the atmosphere
Floating through this land
Sifting through one thousand years
of sand
All sand

Drifting through the atmosphere
Floating through this land
Sifting through one thousand years
of sand
All sand

Drifting through the atmosphere

I DEFEAT <- Transcribed by Sarah!!!

We were doing so well
We had broken the spell
And freedom seemed just within reach
We had managed the bend
Between lover and friend
Found a place we could possibly meet

Yes, it's me
I can't help myself
I just run headlong to defeat
Yes, it's me
I can't help myself
I defeat
I defeat
I defeat

I'm so hard on myself
Don't deserve any help
So I must let you go, let you go
So I pushed you away
While I hoped you would stay
But I don't let you know, let you know

Yes, it's me
I can't help myself
I keep running around to this beat
Yes, it's me
I can't help myself
I defeat
I defeat
I defeat
(I defeat)

Help me,
I can't help myself
I defeat
Help me,
I can't help myself
I defeat
I defeat
Help me

The following two are doubtful but here they are anyway:

SURPRISE

So you thought we were over
Surprise, surprise
We're not going anywhere

So you fell on your sword again
Tell me what the views like
Deep down in your cockpit

You were straight, you were straight now you're twisted
You're right, you're right
Burn the joint to leave the way you came

(Hello, surprise)
Don't you turn, turn out your light
(Hello, surprise)
Surprise, Surprise

(Hello, surprise)
Don't you turn your day into night
(Hello, surprise)
Surprise, Surprise

We all prayed, we all prayed you'd rise again
>From the hard shoulder
What the doctor ordered

Gotta fix, gotta fix what's not broken
All broke, all broke, I'm busted
Hey twenty one and overs

(Hello, surprise)
Don't you turn, turn out your light
(Hello, surprise)
Surprise, Surprise

(Hello, surprise)
Don't you turn, your day into night
(Hello, surprise)
Surprise, Surprise
Still not satisfied
Still not satisfied
Still not satisfied
Still not satisfied

Falling backwards into darkness
Laughing, reckless, hiding distress
I've got a message for you
You're the one who makes it come true

(Hello, surprise)
Don't you turn, turn out your light
(Hello, surprise)
Surprise, Surprise

(Hello, surprise)
Don't you turn, your day into night
(Hello, surprise)
Surprise, Surprise
Still not satisfied
(Hello, surprise)
Still not satisfied
Still not satisfied
(Hello, surprise)
Still not satisfied

AFRO LOVER

Everybody wants to be happy
Everybody wants more money
Everybody wants more loving
Everybody wants the same thing

I came across the border through the east and west divide
The land between the trenches was patrolled by the deaf and the blind
The blind were shouting 'Listen!'
while the deaf said 'Can't you see?'
Somewhere deep in no man's land some man has lost the key

I open up into this mystery
I have seen
I have seen
I have seen

The centuries are fighting so I brought myself a gun
The salesman called it 'freedom' so my enemy bought a bigger one
I'm saving up for a missile that will shoot him up with love
Now his finger's on my button and my hand is in his glove

I opened up into this mystery
Every key can lock you up or set you free
I believe that there is magic in this mystery
I have seen
I have seen
I have seen

Everybody wants to be happy
Everybody wants more money
Everybody wants the same thing
I have seen
I have seen
I have seen

Love and light,

Deniz

Greetings,

Great song, huh? Depressing in a way, yet compellingly beautiful.
Listening to it affects me much in the same way as does Beethoven's Fuer
Elise. They're both such fragile, sad songs. I wouldn't rave so much about
the lyrics to the song as for the delivery Sinead gives to them. And the
operatic vocal style she's adopted for it is a further testament to her
versatility. As already mentioned, that extended note held near the end as
the piano begins to play underneath her is a real highlight -- riveting!

Anyway, after several careful listens, here's my stab at the lyrics:

LULLABY FOR CAIN

>From the silence, from the night
comes a distant lullaby.

Cry -- remember that first cry,
your brother standing by,
and loved -- both loved --
beloved sons of mine.
Sing a lullaby.
Mother is close by.
Innocent eyes, such innocent eyes.

Envy stole your brother's life,
came home, murdered peace of mind,
left you nightmares on the pillow.
Sleep now.

Soul -- surrendering your soul,
the heart of you not whole,
for love -- God love -- (??)
walked on.
Cast into the dark,
branded with the mark
of shame, of Cain.

>From the garden of God's light
to a wilderness of night.
Sleep now. Sleep now.

Hi all,

If anyone can afford this Emperor's new clothes-7" for $80 - gor for it!
It's autographed "With Love Sinéad O'Connor", so obviously some kind of
rare;-) To have a look at/buy it:

http://www.visionaryrock.com/product3760.html

I'd be super-happy to have it myself, but my student-budget doesn't allow me
to buy every Sinéad-item I come across - unfortunately...

Yours sadly,

Christine

PS: In no way I want to promote this enterprise selling it, but I thought it
would be of some interest to you...

Hi all,

Thanks everyone who had a try at transcribing the lyrics. I have to say they
make more sense now after Jim's transcription. This is fast becoming one of my
favourite Sinéad songs! Like Jesseca, I play it on a loop. Sinéad never fails
to surprise me and if this is a taste of what's to come, then her new album will
be worth every bit of the wait!

Take care,
Maria

Hi all,

I have just tried to fill in the amnesty concert 1990 in Santiago chili
onto a 80 minutes cd.
It now features a prayer (in Spanish) by Sinead and the full versions of
get up stand up Sinead did with all other artists. And of course 70 minutes
of her great music, a version of don't give up with peter Gabriel, the
prayer, silence and the get up song. Now for the first time complete on cd.
And I made a sleeve which I can send you in power point 98 file (about 300
k) or power point 95 file (very big 7mb). Price will be $6 + $2 postage.
Very hood sound quality (TV recording, edit a bit on a MD to make very long
intervals a bit shorter without noticing).

If interested, feel free to mail me at e.verheijen02@chello.nl (i used to
be eduflo)

Hello,

I finally took some time (20.00-02.00) to update the (online) discography.
New releases and sleeves have been added. I still have some scans of older
releases ready to get put into the discography, but that's the next job....
who knows tomorrow.

Good news and bad news;

Good news; viewing the GUEST-APPEARANCES took a long while to download, I
know, so I split it up into 3 parts (1983-1991 / 1992-1994 / 1995-2000) so
each page will download 3x quicker.

The bad news; (At least I assume for most of you) The word document version
of the discography is now created in Word2000 insteed of Word97, I'm not
sure whether it looks the same in Word97........ If you have a problem with
it mail me and I'll try to convert it to your version (any) text-editor.

AS ALWAYS; IF YOU'RE MISSING AN ITEM, CATALOGUE NUMBER OR SLEEVE;
MAIL ME, mail me, MAIL ME, mail me, MAIL ME, mail me, MAIL ME, mail me, MAIL
ME, mail me, MAIL ME, mail me, MAIL ME, mail me, MAIL ME, mail me, MAIL ME,

me, MAIL ME, mail me, MAIL ME, mail me, MAIL ME, mail me, MAIL ME, mail me,
MAIL ME, mail me, MAIL ME, mail me.

To look/check; http://www.sinead-oconnor.com option discography.

I will take this week to put in the left-over sleeves. After that I will
FINALLY update the news-section. I will do that backwards, so first
december99 then november99, oct99 etc..... upto march99. But don't expect to
much, because as you know, there wasn't much news besides her "name change"
(thank God she also didn't change it into some strange symbol, that guy
already gave me enough trouble because of it......;-))

Greetings Mars-L

BTW; Remember I put several rare cds on eBay including a GHOSTLAND CD, SOME
BOOTLEGS, THE JAPANESE AINYG (w/ 3 unique tracks), CHIQUITITA and VA

Hello,

I took the time to look at the font Lion&Cobra is spreading as being THE
Sinead font, but it's a different one then the one I had.
The one L&C is spreading is made in 1999 and comes really close to the one I
have, but it ain't the same.
Differences can be found in;

1) the David-Star. Personally I prefer the one in the old TTF.
2) the p, q and r-caracter. I have to admit, the one of L&C is better
because these look indeed like small-caracters while the ones I have look
like they're capitals.
3) The Capital-caracter Y, they're different.
4) L&C version is missing the "dubble dot" :

All in all, the one of L&C comes really close to the one I have, but they're
seperate fonts.
L&C version is made in 1999 by S.R.Frantz and is 26kB big
"our"-version is older, made by another company and 45kB big

Allthough the fonts are 99% the same the 2 biggest worthwhile differences
are the star which is nicer in "our" version but on the otherhand the
caracters of L&C are a little more smooth and better fitting to eachother.

Personally I assume both are made by the same company ???? But different
versions ??

My favorite ??; Indeed L&C's version, with the exception for the dot.
The funny thing about both fonts is that both are missing the dot which
belongs to Sinead's star.

Gr. Mars-L

BTW; you can see the differences and download the L&C-version on;

Hi there,

Well, I didn't have the least intention to discuss this here in the list,
but since it has become such a mystery, I decided to reveal the "mysetery"
of the Sinéad font.

A few months ago I really put the idea of finding this font into my mind; I
searched lots of font-pages, contacted lots of people but couldn't fint
anything. Then, one day, I came across a font company from London who put
the letters of this font to their webpage as an advertisment. I contacted
them but they told me that it wasn't for sale, and was for advertising
purposes only.

So I took that JPG file of the letters from that site and began to look for
someone who can make them into a font file. Luckily, I came across this guy
who was kind enough to make them into a font file for me. So this is how the
second font was created!

The font, to me, is not perfect. Especially when you're writing in big
sizes, the results are not very desirable. And I guess that was why why I
didn't offer it to anyone myself, not that I wanted it to be something
secret and previliged but that I though it wasn't good enough. But when Ben
mailed about the font to JITR a some weeks ago, I offered it to him and he
was very pleased. So he began to spread it to people among whom was L&C.

I guess everything is cleared now; the font is not L&C's or not even mine.
Practically, it belongs to dear Roland who made it for me. But in a more
collective sense, I believe it belongs to all the people who love Sinéad and
her music.

So have fun using and spreading the font. I would be more and more pleased
as the number of people using and sharing this font increases.

Love and light,

Deniz

In this true spirit of generosity which Deniz has shown to us, why doesn't
someone who has BOTH fonts put together the best letters from each one and
then make that one available to everyone. If this can't be done, at least
make both of them available so everyone can use which one they prefer. I
must say that the font from Deniz _does_ in fact have a nice Star of
David--you just have to type the dollar sign, and that's what you get. One
thing the new font does not have is an accent on the "e", so I would like to
get the older one as well. Hasn't everyone noticed all the contests we've
had here lately in order to simply be nice to each other, without expecting
anything in return? Let's have that same attitude about the fonts, instead
of keeping them for upper class citizens only.

Just a thought...

Ben

Hello,

Oh I just have a few moments to kill, so I thought I would email a
thought I had. I think one of the things is nice about most of Sinead's
music is that it is healing music as opposed to a trend in some new music
that seems to be very destructive.Hard to articulate I guess. agree?

Should anyone care, I think I was wrong about this part:

the heart of you not whole,
for love -- God love -- (??)
walked on.

I hate when I immortalize my density. This is what I think it is now:

the heart of you not whole for love,
but love walked on.

Then again, as demonstrated, I could be wrong. (The second "love" sounds
more like "low.")

Jim.

Hello,

Sinead did it again, she got me in her magic again.
Tonight I finally had the time to REALLY listen to I Defeat, and it hit me.
To me this is Sinead on her best. As a second-voice or in duet with a male
with a little difference in reach. (personally I call it singing in
"half-tones" but don't know whether that a real saying)
She does that with Peter Gabriel, Jah Wobble, Bomb The Bass, Willie Nelson
etc etc......
To me these kind of songs are her best, even better than the angry period
(Lion and Cobra era).
Although I like her 50s-sound, and lullaby's, but those come on 3rd and 4th
place.

I defeat reached my personal Top10.....
If you don't have that cd-single you're really missing one of Sinead's bests
!!!!

I agree; I also love her in Hard Sun. Even though she is barely in it at
the end, she just MAKES the refrain.

I agree 100%!!!!!
I guess that is why we have liked her for so long, because she's growing and
so are we.

hi jitr,

just bought the latest issue of rolling stone
(828/829, special photo issue), and there's an
interview with michael tilson thomas, said to be
"america's most innovative maestro."

basically he didn't think much of '90s music (which he
finds "repetitive"), but when asked whether there was
"anything special... in this musical morass," he
replies (p. 76):

<A song that broke through was "Nothing Compares 2 U"
-- a song written by Prince and sung later by Sinead
O'Connor. That, to me, took things in a different
direction, because to me, it was an extension of the
gesture that's made by the blues. And what's
interesting about the blues is that it's a music of
ruins, the way in which the singer doesn't manage to
sing the phrase. It falls off wherer words are
supposed to be, the way it gets through its emotion
that falls into pieces, and that is what makes it so
profound. But I think "Nothing Compares 2 U" is a step
even beyond that, because it's a kind of distillation
of a primal scream or wail that just hangs there and
then comes back like a keening, mournful child. And it
was arresting, it was saying something different. It
wasn't just trying to push those same old buttons.>

phew!

kai chai.

Hi there,

Definately, that's what I like about Sinéad's music most. Not only it puts
its arms around you and make you feel that you're not the only one going
through all those hard times, but also it offers a solution; a sense of
peace and love and that's what I think makes her music unique. I mean, I
know many other bands I can listen to when I'm down and unhappy; but it's
only Sinéad that I rush to play when I want to get up off the floor!

Love and light,

Deniz

Mars L...I thought you said you didn't care that I
spread it around?....then why are you so concerned
about it? (by writing about them)...I've already told
people they are a little different...or do you have to
keep justifying everyting?...the whole point out of
all of this is:

Your page has lost some of its unique qualities...

Maybe, when I asked you if I could have it a long time
ago, you should have just given it to me. Because if
I hadn't of gotten the font I have now, I wouldn't
have spread it around

Your page is not the same now

enable me to copy songs from my cd to my harddisk. please.

btw, a few stupid thoughts:

1. a few nights ago, i dreamed of sinead. but like most good dreams, you
just don't remember the details. it's something like: she was performing
in a small venue, the ticket was quite expensive (but it was okay--it's
sinead, for crying out loud!), and i was there, just a couple of feet from
the stage. it's like, i could reach out my hand and touch her! (grrrr!
just the thought of it drives me crazy!). and i was really in heaven. and
it seemed like everyone in the room just disappeared in the darkness. and i
felt like there was no one else in the room but sinead and i. then, after
the concert, i asked her to sign on all of my cd's and pics of her. then,
afterwards, we went to a quite bar (oh my god i better stop this i am going
crazy again oh my...). okay, it's not as coherent as that, but more or less
that's how it went.

2. i am listening to i defeat right now. and yes. it's really really
really great.

3. i was listening to "streets of london" a few minutes ago, and got
drowned in it. somehow, it depressed me. i know it's supposed to lift you
up. but the way she sings it. and it's still one of my favorites.

Hi all !!

I was (finally) trying to buy the cd single the other day, but my record
shop does not have it. The guy offered me to order it, but he had two
different singles in his computer (vol 1 and 2) with no track listing and I
couldn' t remember on which one "I defeat" is...

Could someone e-mail me the info please ?

Thanks in advance !!

A bientot

The lullaby for Cain is great! Thanks for posting it, although it seems to
be not advertised, so to say.

About "I Defeat" I'll be only to glad to buy it what it is released, but in
the meantime is it available anywhere on the net in MP3?

Thanks,

Dan Duncan

Hey Jumpers,

How is everyone doing? It sounds like everything is the same with the
list! Fighting and loving all in the same day! Some things never
change! I wanted to report on a few little things as of late!

I went to see The The tonight in Boston and as you may have guessed no
Sinead appearance(Why do I still have this fantasy that Sinead will
surprise me and show up at one of these gigs) Actually I really love
The The so I would have went anyway! They haven't been around in about
six years and they were better than ever!

Remember a little while ago I think Jesseca :o) (Hi Jesseca!!!) wrote
about a CD called Respirar that was made in Japan and was a special
order on Esprit or CDNow..........well Ken, being the money waster and
Sinead freak that he is expended the money and ordered the CD! I am sad
to report to all the completists out there that the CD contains a 6:06
version of On Raglan Road that is an exact duplicate of the version
found on Common Ground! However, it is such a pretty little piece of
plastic and well worth the $35 <sarcasm>!

The Take my Hand 12" I have is NOT a gatefold so something is weird
around here, anyone interested in comparing the two, please email me and
I will be glad to pull mine out and we can compare the two! I mean the
12"'s you sicko's!! OH I mean the VINYL!!! Get yur mind out of the
gutter!! :o)

Last but not least SOMEONE on the list posted an idea of doing an MP3
site!!! I think that is an excellent idea! I have been working on
MP3ing every version of every Sinead song I own and I finally completed
the project! I placed them all on 100MB ZIP disks and what I've been
doing is downloading them to my MP3 player and having a lot of fun AND
also downloading them to my MD player and making some killer MD's!! The
only thing is I think it would be great to make a site where all of them
were available to anyone that wanted to download them! Yeah Yeah! I
understand the whole "but the artist needs to make money on the
music.....blah....blah.....blah" arguement BUT I wouldn't post anything
that is from the album or singles that are currently available in every
record store! However, most if not all of Sinead's CD are OUT OF PRINT
so I really wouldn't be hurting the artists profits!! Lots to discuss
on this BUT please, whoever it was that wanted to work on something like
this email me and we can talk! Maybe some rico sauve type webster dude
or dudette can guide(me God) thru all this and we could create a kick
ass site that EVERY Sinead fan can enjoy!! NO OFFENSE TO MARS-L AND
ROMAN!!! It is not my intention to step on any toes!

Lastly but not leastly.....THE FONT!! I must say that I am enjoying the
font that I received and I want to thank WHOEVER it was that made it!
All I have to say is SHARING is fun and nice! SHARING is good and
healthy! Making money or protecting your interests is fine also BUT
where does it all end! Believe it or not, you can get most every kind
of font that you want from the web for free!! I even have a Coca Cola
font! A font is a font is a font! I really don't think that someone is
going to die if the list has the font or not!

Sorry for the long post but I won't leave it so long next time! I have
a little bit more time on my hands so like it or not you'll be hearing
from me a lot more often!

If anyone needs/requested an MP3 from me and didn't receive it just
email me and I'll take care of yoU!!

Long live the arts,

Ken

Hi Everybody!!

I just had the following idea - as this is the last year of this century =
it would really be awesome if all the jitr members could send an e-mail =
containing the following:
Name - we know from e-mail
Age
and the HIGHLIGHTS and LOW POINTS that they had in 1999. It will be =
great to share and then we can get to know each other and share about a =
lot of things that was important to us this year. If you want to do =
this - keep the heading as "1999 - NSC" and we can get some e-mail!!!

Have a wonderful day. =20

Hello,

Ken;
Great idea that MP3 site, but where do you find the homespace for 100s of
MB's to place the MP3's, most free host just give you about 10-25 MB of
space. And besides that it has to be done illegally, who dares to be the
legal owner of that site. And also most hosts delete entire sites if there's
something illegal on it.

The only way to do it right is by opening an secret FTP-server/homepage. For
that you need quite some knowledge, an extra computer that's online 24 hours
a day and a static DNS-number. Allthough you can use your standard computer
also, but you'll loose system-resources everytime someone's on your computer
to download MP3-files.
Besides that you need to install firewalls so people cannot break-into you
computer etc etc.......

Does that leave anyone who's still interested and able to do that ???? I
doubt it. I wish I could do that, but even though I have all the equiptment
and (still) have a static DNS-number I also don't have the knowledge.......

font (MY LAST MAIL);
I never meant to bash L&C again. Strange is that his bashing yesterday was a
reply on a message that I did send him PERSONALLY (to my knowledge), and
even that message was meant as a compliment, saying the font he is sharing
contains some great items that aren't in the "official" font.
To clear (AGAIN) the reasons why I cannot (but wait.....) spread the
official font is because it's of that company that designed it. As it is
with spreading MP3 files of songs that aren't legal because of artististic
right, for the same reason this MP3 may (officially) not be copied. So it's
simply a fact of LAWS and promisses I made to may use it myself.
BUT, you could thank L&C for that (or better Ken; who was able to (let
someone) create a new one out of a picture file).
Because that company wasn't smart by putting up that picture of the font,
they could have known/expect someone would use that picture to create his
own font. So now it seems to be public.
As being one of the (lucky) owners of the original font I could compare both
fonts. The original is far more complete, but the new-designed one contains
some things that are missing in the original or contained some faults;
- The caracter "s" is of the exact same size as the Capital "S"
- The "%" was missing the open spots in the circles
Those were corrected in the new-font......And added to that new font were;
- A signature of Sinead
- A Different star
Both versions were missing the dot of the Sinead stars.......

So after some search I found a program that could be used to create your own
fonts, but one of the options is COPY/PASTE, so with that option I added the
better parts of the new-font into the completer official font, which
resulted in a best-out-of-two new Sinead-font. Infact it was already made
within a day after I received the new-font, but first I had to ask the
person I got the original from wether it may be published or not.

I will/may publish it now, so it will be on the homepage soon. But you could
ofcourse also simply e-mail me for the file & description.
I changed the use of the font; after installing it the
- "Star WITH dot" is now on the "*" key, also on the "}" key
- "Star WITHOUT dot" is on the "{" key
- The "different star" is under the "[" key
- The "signature" is under the "]" key
Besides that loads of caracters are also working now like the $-sign and the
"e with accent"........
BTW; I have seen that "different star" but don't remember where, does anyone
know ???

Greetings Mars-L

Hey Eduard and Jumpers,

Sorry to get everything so confused but I just pulled out my In Tua Nua and
it is a gatefold! I must have been thinking of something else when I
thought it was NOT a gatefold, so my apologizes! (Eduard, I'll write to you
later when I have more time about the video for The Motown Song)

Also, anyone who is planning on buying the James single should plan on doing
it real quickly........a reliable source just informed me that they are not
producing it anymore AND imho it is one of Sinead's best songs. So you
better get it while you can! I know where there are currently two copies so
if anyone needs me to pick it up for them I will!

All the Best,

Ken

Hi!

My name is Dawn and I am 21. Hmm, even though the end of the century =
doesn't end until midnight on January 1st, 2001, I will play along. =
(You do know there was no year zero, right? So year 2000 isn't the =
beginning of a new century, but 2001 is....)

Anyway, my highlights are graduating from college with an AA in English =
(I will get my BA in the Spring if 2001) and meeting the love of my =
life, Toby Dawson. He and I just move in together on December 1st. I =
am just so happy!

Some low points...this year marked the 10th anniversary of my beloved =
brother Cam's death (May 19th, 1990) and I can't believe that it has =
been so long. =20

Peace and love,

Dawn
I just had the following idea - as this is the last year of this =
century it would really be awesome if all the jitr members could send an =
e-mail containing the following:
Name - we know from e-mail
    Age=20
and the HIGHLIGHTS and LOW POINTS that they had in 1999. It will =
be great to share and then we can get to know each other and share about =
a lot of things that was important to us this year. If you want to do =
this - keep the heading as "1999 - NSC" and we can get some e-mail!!!
    =20
    Have a wonderful day. =20

hi guys,

i don't mean to start a debate here, but i just want to express my opinions
on a couple of things i just read from the mailinglist.

>SOMEONE on the list posted an idea of doing an MP3 site!!! I think that
is an excellent idea!

* i think that's a great idea, too, since most of sinead's songs / works
are really difficult to find. especially in places / countries where she
is not very popular and not quite appreciated.

>"but the artist needs to make money on the
music.....blah....blah.....blah" arguement BUT I wouldn't post anything
that is from the album or singles that are currently available in every
record store!

* that's true. besides, i want to think that members of this mailing list
are not really trying to complete their collections without spending a
single centavo. based on my experience, it's more expensive to download a
5-minute song than to buy the whole cd. also, nothing compares to the
feeling of having the REAL ALBUM in your hands. it's also tantamount to
saying that "i'd really have no other way to hearing this song, even for
just once in my whole life, had i not downloaded it from the net." i'm
talking from experience.

>Maybe some rico sauve type webster dude or dudette can guide(me God) thru
all this and we could create a kick ass site that EVERY Sinead fan can
enjoy!!

* i think the onelist.com site that somebody from this mailing list started
is cool. there, we can upload and download songs, files, pics, etc. but
that isn't enough. wait, a friend of mine recommended driveway.com. it
can accomodate up to 100mb. that should be enough. i recommend that you
check it out.

* sinead-oconnor.com is really really really cool. i am really really
really thankful to whoever put it up. if it were not for that site, i
would not have been able to hear A LOT of sinead's songs. but honestly,
given the chance i'd love to have the real albums, but pfft! i am in a
godforsaken land, where can find them here!?

* then again, can't we just add to the collections in sinead-oconnor.com?
i mean, if we have rare sineads, then maybe we can send it to whoever keeps
that site. at least, there's only one "comprehensive" sinead site, and we
can rest assure that somebody's taking real great care of it. i think.

>Lastly but not leastly.....THE FONT!!
>A font is a font is a font! I really don't think that someone is
>going to die if the list has the font or not!

* that is true again. but i think it's always the privilege of the finder
to keep the loot. get my drift? fine, i love the font. i have already
downloaded it and i use it sparingly. but if the one who created it didn't
want to share it with me, then, what can i do? or if the one who found it
didn't want to give it to me, what can i do? in both cases, it doesn't
necessarily mean that i should stop finding ways to get the font. it just
means that i should look at it more of a challenge--that i should be more
'imaginative and creative' in acquiring the font.

it's not whether somebody's going to die or not. it's more of respect to
one's possession (or loot for that matter!)

okay my point is, let's not get mad at anyone just because he/she doesn't
want to share anything with us or wouldn't give us what we're asking for.
it's such a waste of energy. in a way it also affects other people. bad
feelings emit negative energy. instead, let us all promote understanding
and peace and love. based on what little i know of sinead, i think that's
what she's trying to say all these years. let's all be "not full of
hatred." let's all be "full of love."

>highs and lows of jitr members in 1999.

* i think that's a great idea. one way to do it, maybe, is through this
mailing list. however, the emails / files may be too big! suggestion:
what if we just keep it short, then, just include our personal sites so
that anyone who wants to learn more, see pics, etc, may just go to those
sites?

* BTW, does anyone know where i can download sacrifice from?

i'm having some morbid thoughts: it's 1999, the last year of the present
millenium, and most heroes were in their 30's when they 'transformed'.

i am scared.

Hi All,

I've been quiet lately, but felt like chiming in with a three points.

1. Sinead is selling her house in Highgate for 1,400,000 pounds and moving to
the US according to a British paper.

2. Because Lullaby for Cain is an original composition by TWO oscar winners,
perhaps the song will be nominated for an Oscar, and Sinead will sing it at the
Oscars! How exciting would that be?

3. My boyfriend has forever changed the way I listen to NC2U by changing the
first verse to "It's been seven hours and fifteen years." Very funny. He also
likes to sing, "I love you my hard fish man. Your rage is like a fish in my
womb, etc.." Very funny, I know.

Christian

Hello everyone,

Its the 8th December here, so I get to celebrate first, huh? :-P

Anyhow, this is non-Sinead related but I got a laugh out of it so
thought I'd share. Its a review of a band called Lamb. I checked out
their stuff and don't much care for it. I did like this review, however.

Gus:

I totally agree with you (and with Ken). I think if some of the mighty
people thought that way, the world would be a much better place to live.
Meanwhile, we could have that spirit on this list.
Just a thought.

Gabi.

hi guys,

i don't mean to start a debate here, but i just want to express my opinions
on a couple of things i just read from the mailinglist.

* i think that's a great idea. one way to do it, maybe, is through this
mailing list. however, the emails / files may be too big! suggestion:
what if we just keep it short, then, just include our personal sites so
that anyone who wants to learn more, see pics, etc, may just go to those
sites?

* BTW, does anyone know where i can download sacrifice from?

i'm having some morbid thoughts: it's 1999, the last year of the present
millenium, siñead is turning 33--a good timing to be immortal.

i am scared.
