Hi jumpers,
I'd like to know your opinion about this song.I find it spectacular and also
did you know that the Long journeuy hone cd won a grammy this year?.
For me it's not a surprise since I consider the whole cd superb and full of
beatiful songs.(Mary Black,Van Morrison, Elvis Costello).
If you don't have it please buy it. Together with the avengers sdt this is
the best cd sampler Sinead ever worked in.
My opinion.
Alex

Oggetto: I have to speak, too!

Sorry Jumpers,
I can't resist:

> HI
> No offense but can we please stop judging sinead. Who are we???
> Nobody.

Well, speak for yourself.

> Sinead made her mark and she did it well so she has the right to
> do what she wants. Thanks for the people supporting her. Who is not
> confused at times. I have been reading everything that you wrote and you
> are not wrong because you do believe in what you are saying - the same way
> that she is believing in what she is doing. Think about it.

So, what you are saying is that, as long as we judge her to be
right, then that's really good. But, if we criticize her then that's
bad; and we don't have the right to do that, because we are
nobodies, and therefore not entitled to an opinion? Is that what you
mean? If so, I must say, I disagree most strongly.

> I will keep on supporting her. If you do not want to listen to her
> music it is your choice. She has got the greatest voice and talent and I
> believe she will not let us down.

I totally agree with her being the best musician I know, and I think
most of us will keep listening until that changes (if ever.) But I
think there is a need to realize that that does not make her an
infallible God.
I love her still. Though I really do think now that she is insane in a
not so healthy manner.
Flame me!

Wedding plans are going well. Myself, Mandy, Roman, Sophie, Enzo, Kai Chai,
and now Ben and Ken all look up to being a part of this special day!!! On
the subject of wedding attire my original thought was that we all ought to
wear black bras, tutus and doc marten boots, but I am now convinced that
this might not look too good on some of the lads!! (Sorry guys!!). Mandy
suggested combats and I think that's a great way to go. So everyone who
wants to be a part of the party (ie. wedding) presided over by Mother
Bernadette jump into your combat pants and I'll see you all in Lourdes, say
Wednesday week? My aunt always says the strawberries at Lourdes are
delicious (sweet and full of flavour) I think we ought to add them to the
dessert menu for the reception (ie. much spliffing and reggae dancing for
first course, and strawberries for dessert!!).

See you all there ;-))

Your favourite fiancee,
Sarah, xo.

COME ON EVERYONE - IT DOESN"T TAKE THAT MUCH TIME!

Hello All,

I think that it's definitely time to do this again. I always breaks the =
tension and the ice so here I go!

I wonder if you would all humor me with a brief description of =
yourselves:

Here's the basics - 27 year old Male living in Boston, wanting to move =
back to San Francisco! 6'1" 195lbs dark hair, blue eyes! Kinda sounds =
like a classified ad! "Looking for a Mother B. fan to love and settle =
down with!" :o)

What is your occupation?

Bachelor's Degree in Computers but it's mostly a hobby! Right now I'm =
chillin out and self employed doing constructions jobs in Massachusetts!

What is your religion (if any)?

I was raised Catholic but right now I am on a path of my own! I haven't =
quite found a label for myself yet!

Do you do drugs? Drink?

I definitely do not drink except at weddings! Please see my musical =
taste to determine whether I use drugs or not! If you cannot figure it =
out then your better off not knowing! Of course, moderation is the key =
to everything!

What other music do you listen to?

Anything Irish - Hothouse Flowers, U2, Cranberries, Altan, Engine Alley, =
Mother B.(of course)
Lots of New Wave early eighties, things like Depeche Mode, The Cure, =
Siouxie and the Banshees and the like
Addicted to electronica music right now - Fatboy Slim, DJ Icey, DJ Ming, =
DJ Dara, Kemistry & Storm, Faithless any and all Breakbeat, BigBeat, =
some house/ Anything that you would hear at a rave!

What is your fave Sinead song?

Oh no!! I can't pick! It definitely changes all the time! Right now =
I'm engrossed in Chiquitita and also Universal Mother as an album. That =
is a work of art!

Hi everyone,

In light of the recent request, here is a little about myself. I am a
college student in Eugene, Oregon, but my heart is in my hometown of Santa
Cruz, California. I listen to everything from Tribe Called Quest to Pearl
Jam to Sinead. I'm not religious. I drink occasionally, don't do drugs
much anymore, and love dogs! I write and read constantly and love the ocean
(though I find myself in a valley at the moment). It's hard to say a
favorite song of Sinead's, but if I must, I guess it would be "Just Like You
Said it Would Be". Oh, and I love sushi!

Julia

I just looked at CDnow and Music Boulevard....they no
longer have the value of ignorance...and my friend
ordered a copy for me.......but she never sent the
check in for it......does anyone know if that means
that she will not receive the video?

alex & fellow jitr pple,

yes, 'skibbereen' is stupendous. i particularly love the last verse sans
music. the keening passion in sinead's voice gives me goosebumps every time
i hear that song.

& guess what, here's something insider for all of you -- i had a chance to
speak to paddy moloney on the phone several weeks ago, and this is what the
guy told me about sinead:

"As for Sinead, I love her approach to songs -- she's a great, great artist.
Two weeks after she recorded 'Skibbereen' for The Long Journey Home CD, I
met her and she yelled, "I'm going to kill you!" It turned out that she
couldn't ger rid of the song in her mind. She's passionate about the songs,
she's totally dedicated to them."

that's all, folks.

kai chai -- *still* reeling from sarah's ginormous, polygamous idea...

ps. please take care of yourselves, mandy, sarah, claudia & anyone else in
london, what with those bigoted cowards trying to scare pple off by bombing
yr wonderful city.

Uh, no, she doesn't. First of all, Sinead and Dolores use their voices in
completely different ways. Linger sounds NOTHING like anything Sinead would
do, for example, and that was the 'Berries first big hit. I'm 26 years old
and became a Sinead fan after I saw her on the 1988 Grammy awards. Second of
all, I have heard LOTS of singers who sound similar to Sinead AND
Dolores....like, certain Indian female vocalists, and I'm sure that's just
the style of singing over there. My boyfriend and I were listening to the
soundtrack of a movie called City of Joy, and he's like, "That's Sinead
singing." He's not a fan, but I knew better. It was just an Indian
vocalist. Sinead did not create that style, ok? It's been going on for ages,
centuries, that WAILING style. SO GET A CLUE. Sinead doesn't own that style
and she didn't create it, and I'm sure Dolores would still be here singing to
us in her way if Sinead had never been born.

I won't stop buying her records over this. I haven't been following Sinead's
latest comments. I just think it's stupid she wants her fans to start
praying because of her music. 'Cos I will never do that. I have been a
longtime fan, since age 15, and Sinead's music gave me comfort when I needed
it most. Organized religion never did, it's a turn off. If she embracing
it, that's her choice, but I hope she's not expecting to convert any of us.
This whole thing is starting to seem like "Brian Wilson sitting in his
sandbox" sorta craziness, but I would not stop buying Sinead's records over
it. I would only avoid her record if it was a boring piece of crap. Let's
hope this cult thing won't do that to the music.

I think marcel's girl (and he) are having the second baby in about 2 weeks.
So I assume Marcel is occupied with that instead of Sinead, jitr etc.

That's interesting - the site says that Daniel Lanois has worked with
Sinead
(something I mused about on jitr ages ago) but I can't find what they
did
together.

About me:

35. Former computer geek now chiropractic student. Also an abstract
painter
and thinker. Single.

religion: Taoist.

Drink/drugs: Not any more. My Alan Watts quote I sometimes use as a
signiture:
'Once you've got the message you can hang up the phone'.

Other music: All Lida Husik all the time. Thanks to whoever it was on
this
list who brought her up once. I am so nuts about that music.

Favorite Sinead song: Does she do anything by Lida Husik? Just kidding.
This is tough - how about 'Empire'. I have a pretty mean stereo but I
once
got to hear this one at the factory/headquaters of Ayre Acoustics (a
killer
hifi manufacturer) thru their stuff and $40000 Avalon speakers. Oh baby
that
was something. For a few minutes Sinead was captured inside the right
speaker.

about 3 weeks ago i was in the glamarama hair salon getting my hair dyed a
brilliant coppery red. i had plenty of time to see trashy magazines' coverage
of sinead's custody circus including the national enquirer, which had a large
blurry blow-up of sinead and john waters walking roisin in a pram. and having
seen waters i can definitely say it was a case of beauty & the beast: he
looks like a motorhead roadie reject. the text was identical almost to the
mirror article posted here. then people magazine had a small pic of her with
a few details on the same subject.

THEN i was skimming thru a book called BIG HAIR which talked about the
evolution of enormous hairstyles (which i love). there was a small paragraph
about sinead as the anti-bighair gal & it said (paraphrased) "her lack of any
hair seems to say 'take me as i am'. she feels confident that her beauty
alone is enough without the adornment and disguise of hair. would this be
true if she didn't have MORE THAN A PASSING RESEMBLANCE TO AUDREY HEPBURN?"
(emphasis mine.)

this reminded me of the discussion of a few months ago as to whether sinead
resembles audrey. wasn't audrey a nun in a movie? maybe more than once? or
maybe a saint? maybe it's just the frail baby-bird necks and giant eyes.

right-ee-oh. delete.

Ok, my turn. :-)

I'm a 20 year old male from Windsor, Ontario, Canada. I'm 6'1 with brownish
hair (this week) and brown eyes.
Work: I'm in school right now for computer science but I also work at an
employment agency.
Drugs/Drinking: I drink about once or twice a week and smoke the occasional
joint (hey, I'm 20, gimme a break).
Religion: My own that I've made up (I didn't like any of the exsisting ones
out there)
Favourite Sinead Song: Geez, this is like asking a mother to pick a
favourite child. I guess The Last Day of Our Acquaintance has always been
one of my favourites, especially the old live version.
Other Music: I love Massive Attack, Portishead, Bjork, Madonna, Radiohead,
Sheryl Crow, Air, and other stuff like that, and of course, our Universal
Mother herself.

Wayne

Ok, I was planning on being a silent member of this list, but since
everyone else is being a good sport, here I go....

My name is Melinda, I'm a 25 year old SWF. I say I'm from Glendale,
Arizona (USA), but I moved around quite a bit growing up and have lived
all over the US and spent 3 years living in Germany.

I got my bachelor's degree from Arizona State University in Humanities,
and I'm almost finished with law school at the University of Michigan.
I'm moving to Los Angeles, California soon, so as you can see, I'm still
all over the place!

I was raised Catholic and will say I am Catholic if my mother asks, but
really I think organized religion is rather pointless. I drink quite
often (it's the Catholic in me:)) but don't use drugs.

My favorite Sinead/Mother B songs is Just Like U said it Would B, though
right now I can't stop listtening to Chiquitita. I listen to all kinds of
music, but some of my favorites are U2, Tom Petty, Peter Gabriel, and PJ
Harvey.

Everyone be happy!

Melinda

jitr pple,

got this from an indigo girls' newsgroup -- does anyone know whether
sinead's involved in it in any way?

kai chai.

<Indigo Girls began work on their sixth studio recording for Epic in
February. They recorded five new songs in London at John Reynolds' Studio.
John is the drummer in Sinead O'Connor's band, which also includes Claire
Kenny on bass, Carol Isaacs on keyboards and accordion, and Caroline Dale on
cello, all of whom play on the tracks. Natasha Atlas also added some unique
backing vocals on a song entitled
Faye Tucker. Other songs recorded are Go, Sister, Soon Be To Nothing, and
Philosophy of Loss.>

Greetings,

My name is Paivi Majaranta, friends call me Curly.
I'm from Tampere, Finland. I am a mother of two girls.
Almost as old as Sinead, and my first child is about
the same age as Jake. :)

Researcher in University of Tampere, mostly doing research
on human-computer interaction.

More or less agnostic these days, though I had a very religious childhood
(baptism).

Never tried any drugs; maybe because never had a chance.
I've been told, that these days one can find them in Finland easily,
but not when I was young. Do dring now and then, red wines and whiskey.
And do smoke (hate myself for that).

Listen to Bjork, Portishead, PJ Harvey, Tori Amos, among many others

As someone said, choosing fav Sineadian song is like making
a mother to chooce her favourite child. :-)
Usually I like live concerts more than studio songs.
Somehow live songs sound and feel more real. My dream is to
see Sinead live someday.

Kind regards,
Curly

ps. As someone (Gus?) wanted to see other members on list, my
photo can be found at http://www.cs.uta.fi/~curly
(The photo is taken about 6 years ago, so it doesn't tell the whole truth ;)

hi everyone. i thought i would add to the list....

name: amira (most folks call me ami--easier to pronounce)
occupation: i'm a student at the university of puget sound in tacoma,
washington, usa.( i'm originally from san diego, ca). i'm a lit major
with a minor in african-american studies. my main focus of study is
black feminist lesbian literature (yes, i'm a lesbian, no, i'm not
black).
religion: currently, i'm a non-practicing jew.
drugs/alcohol: moderation, moderation, moderation :)
favo(u)rite sinead song: i've been a fan since i was about 12 years old,
and different songs apply to different times in my life. right now i'd
have to say it's "a perfect indian". or maybe "never get old". i can't
decide. ask me tomorrow...
other music: ani difranco, beth orton, radiohead, counting crows, tracy
chapman, aretha franklin, rem, sarah mclachlan, tori amos, al green,
kristen hersh, the list goes on and on.
other interests: political activism (especially in the queer community),
playing the guitar (badly), photography
plans after graduation: if it ever happens... i plan to work my way
through grad school as a massage therapist, and eventually become a
teacher. i'll probably make more as a masseuse, but there are fewer
hairy backs to deal with when standing in front of a classroom :)

hi jitr pple,

it suddenly struck me while reading all yr very entertaining, good-humoured
postings -- some even flirting outright with one another;) -- that we owe
*all of this* to the one and only michael c berch, the reclusive host of the
sinead o'connor mailing list since time immemorial (okay, 27th march 1990).

think, fellas: without him, none of this would have happened -- we wouldn't
have known one another, some wouldn't have gotten the rare sinead stuff we
hearken for, and worst of all, we would still be suffering in excruciating
silence like social pariahs in this lonely world rampant with non-sinead
believers.... yes, it's all thanks to him that we've found solace and
understanding in one another -- gawd, i'm sounding sappy here.

so, let's kow-tow to the wonder-ful michael c berch, as ben elton would have
announced -- like the way the bloke introduced sinead for 'chiquitita'!

kai chai.

SECTION: WEEKEND; MOTHER BERNADETTE; Pg. 61=20

LENGTH: 1322 words=20

HEADLINE: Desperately seeking Sinead=20
Roisin Ingle wonders whether it will all end in tears as 'Sinead, I mean
Bernadette' O'Connor talks to her from her hideaway near Lourdes about her
mission from God=20

BODY:=20
=A0=A0=A0 Something the newly ordained Sinead O'Connor said this week when a=
sked
for her reaction to the widespread view that she was several wafers short
of a Mass, should go some way to easing the conscience of journalists (some
of us have one, you know) who may for whatever reason not be entirely
comfortable commenting on this rather bizarre situation.=20

She spoke down the phone, from the place she had "escaped" to from Lourdes,
and said impatiently "place your index fingertip against the tip of your
thumb. Do it now. Are you pressing them together?" As though humouring a
small child one obeyed, the left hand holding the phone, the relevant
digits of the other forming a clumsily shaped but clearly visible zero.
Then that restless, middle-class Dublin voice again. "Look at it. Do you
see it? That's how much I care about what anyone says about me anymore. Do
you understand?" Imperfectly, Sinead.=20

She said a lot that day, on the phone from she-wouldn't-say-where and then
later, expanding upon her points into an answering machine as though it
were a listening ear. She had said a lot to Marian Finucane two days
before. People who heard her proclamations live on radio that she was going
to save the Catholic Church - ranting on "as though she were some kind of
second coming", they would later remark to each other during their coffee
break - smirked and muttered "God love her, what will she do next?" Others,
like Pat Kenny were disturbed by the fact that her ordination had made the
headlines on that mornings news. "I just feel sorry for her," he concluded.
For him, at least, the subject of Mother Bernadette Mary O'Connor was
closed. Perhaps that is the most appropriate reaction, indeed her family
has kept a typically dignified silence. Unfortunately for anyone close to
her and due in no small part to her own clever use of the media, this
dramatic leap of faith is proving almost impossible to ignore. As one of
our most talented, successful and prolific exports, Sinead the celebrity
fascinates the general public as much as Sinead the singer. Whether that
acute fascination justifies the extensive coverage this and other
newspapers continue to afford the story is another question.=20

But people are interested and as dubious proof, her latest career move was
discussed on Questions and Answers on Monday night with most of the
panellists, relieved no doubt to be finished on the subject of judges or
tribunals or war, resorting to flippant answers, exhibiting something close
to delight that the most mixed up girl on Planet Pop was larking about
again. Only one panellist seemed to find anything remotely cynical about
the whole affair. Maureen Gaffney's tack was that it was all an
attention-grabbing stunt by a highly intelligent woman who knows how to
work the press. Anyone who looked closely at the carefully applied mascara
in her priestly photographs, the earrings that matched her blue clerical
garb, the presence of a tabloid reporter at the makeshift ceremony could
come swiftly to the same conclusion.=20

If we are looking for motive though, Sinead would have us go much further
back than 11 years ago when the golden-voiced south-sider first started
selling records. Incidentally the very first interview published in this
newspaper with the singer in 1988 began with the following sentence; "Being
born on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Sinead O'Connor might well
have been destined for the church".=20

Take it, or leave it, but according to Sinead when she was five years old
she made a deal with God the way some people make pacts with the devil. If
he would help her through a well-documented abusive childhood then when
Sinead got bigger she would do whatever she could to spread His word, and
make people turn to Him.=20

Her story continues, and again it can be taken with a biblical sack of
salt, that she didn't want to become a nun and so she became a singer, the
modern version of a priest. In her eyes Bob Marley is a priest. So is Bob
Dylan. Even Van Morrison is afforded divine qualities. The way she tells
it, everything in her life has been inexorably leading to this moment. She
has been writing hymns, or as she calls them, hers, for all of her career.
Nobody, least of all those who know her, she asserts, should be the least
bit surprised.=20

The rest of us aren't that shocked either that she has metamorphosed into a
Super Heroine, a collared crooning crusader, ready, Pow! to save, Bam!, the
world, Biff!, from evil. It's just another in a long line of wacky
outbursts or escapades. Its just slightly wackier, that's all. It started
subtly. She shaved her head to be different. Wore docks and ballet skirts
to challenge perceptions. Slagged off U2, at that time a rite of passage
for any remotely successful Irish band or singer. Nothing too unremarkable
yet, then.=20

Then fame, fame, fatal fame, took hold and occasionally she would pick up a
political hot potato (the IRA, the famine, the state of the nation) and
juggle with it till she got her fingers burnt. There was the full page ad
she took out in this newspaper cataloguing the effect the abuse of her
mother had on her. So much dirty family linen had rarely been washed in
public. Her family was deeply and publicly wounded.=20

Later she wouldn't let the national anthem be played at a US concert. She
regularly turns up in person to berate journalists who she feels have
misrepresented her. She tears up a picture of the Pope. Then more recently
the highly publicised custody battle for her daughter with journalist John
Waters leaves her, she says herself, suicidal. Some weeks later she becomes
a priest and apologises to "anyone who I have ever pissed off. If God has
forgiven me then why can't they?".=20

She is an easy figure of fun, but because she has wished, indeed prayed,
herself into this position, we deem her an uneasy figure for compassion.
Michael Jackson sleeps in an oxygen tent. Sinead O'Connor thinks she is a
priest.=20

But then she will tell you that everyone thought Jesus was crazy so this
reaction is only to be expected. "And maybe it is crazy . . . But don't you
think it is sad that people think I'm mad because I love God so much I
wanted to marry him?" She wants an answer. You respond with what you hope
is a noncommittal "mmmm . . ." You are sincerely hoping that her "ministry"
brings joy and happiness to people, to her. (She has yet to say how she
thinks her ordination and her planned move to Lourdes may impact on her two
children.) And rapidly suffocating all of the hope is the thought that it
can only end in tears.=20

After she very promptly returned a call from us on Thursday, talking for
around 45 minutes, Sinead left two messages on the answer-phone. The first
was about how she was setting up a healing centre in Lourdes with the
donation that she had decided to retrieve from the bishop who had ordained
her in Lourdes, where travellers from Ireland could visit for healing "or
whatever". It was reminiscent of Princess Diana's famous phrase "battered
this and battered that".=20

The second went like this. "Hello . . . this is Sinead, I mean Bernadette,
look one thing that's really important to get across is that I have
observed the press campaign organised by the Vatican against Bishop
Comiskey when he rocked the status quo of the church . . . I'm not afraid
of any of the ways the Vatican may wage wars against me . . . nothing can
take my priesthood away even if I was to be killed and they would make a
saint of me if they killed me . . .=20

She said she meant no harm, only good. She said that all of us will know
this by the fruits of her work. She said . . . she said a lot of things and
whether or not the words of this young woman, who admits she has been
deeply depressed for much of her life, should be taken at face value, it
seems the decent thing to hope that the seeds she is now sowing won't later
leave a bitter taste in all our mouths.=20

Hi Elonna and all!

I don't know who wrote the first stupid thing about Dolores but I couldn't agree
w/ you more, Elonna. The music "per se" is not the same style... Dolores has a
very similar voice to Sinéad but you can't copycat a voice tone! You're born with
your voice!!! There are a lot of other female singer who sound like them...
Bjork, for example, sometimes. Sometimes I hear to singers in the radio and, for
a moment, I think "is that Sinéad?" and it isn't. Sometimes people who were
singing MUCH BEFORE Sinéad, and you can't say Sinéad is copying them.
ALSO, just have a look at the albums... Dolores composes all the songs... She
doesn't need to copycat Sinéad, she has talent! I think there's a HUGE influence
between being influenced and copying. You can see a Sinéad influence on
Dolores... Dolores herself says that! Not to wonder if you consider Dolores is
from Sep/1971 so, in 1987, when Sinéad came out w/ TLATC, Dolores was turning 16.
Quite easy to get an influence there. Sinéad herself mentions lots of artists as
influences... no one here ever said she copies them. No one says she copies Kate
Bush in "Don't Give Up". I guess some people on this list has to quit the idea
that Sinéad is the solely owner of truth and/or originality in the world...that
all the rest are (1) dumb if don't like her, (2) copiers if have something in
common (even if it's success), (3) smart nobodies, the ones who are nobodies cos
aren't Sinéad but recognize their nothingness.... P-LEASE!

*HUGS*
Chris (rushing to be on time!)

Ok... since everybody is joining, here we go:

Name: Christiane
Age: 24 (straigth single female)
Nationality: Brazilian
Occupation: Economist; more specifically, I'm a lecturer at University
teaching "Economics AI" (that's about general notions on Economic
Theory) to people in courses in the social/human areas (journalism, law,
philosophy,etc.Also Accounts and Business)
Drugs: None, never. Drink occasionally, not beer but wine and things w/
vodka, when going out or in parties. Not always, though.
Favourite track: Troy
Other musical tastes: Bjork, Bryan Adams, Jewel, Alanis, U2, The
Cranberries, Supertramp, Sting, Oswaldo Montenegro (Brazilian, this one)
and many more.... almost everything, actually.
Religion: Catholic; initially, cos I was raised as such. Later, after
too much thoughts, experience and comparisons, by conviction. (just as a
side note, although the papers are saying Sinéad is a catholic priest,
she's not. This "bishop" is , from what I got in the articles you people
so kindly transcripted, is separated from the catholic church. The
Catholic Church
does not accept or regognizes such ordination so she's not a catholic
priest. She's a priest in this Tridentine Church - is that the name? -
that is not a part of the Vatican. NOT GETTING IN THE USE right/wrong
PLEASE!!! _JUST_ making an observation).

Was there any more question unanswered????

*HUGS*
Chris

PS: There are some people on the list I owe an answer... PLEASE, be
patient! This weekend/early week things are really a mess around here.
You're not forgotten!!!

What is your occupation?
What is your religion (if any)?
Do you do drugs? Drink?
What other music do you listen to?
What is your fave Sinead song?

Hi
I'm Alex I'm 23 years old and I'm italian.
I work in a chemical lab (too complex to explain in details) I'm catholic
(& gay)
I don't drink and don't usedrug.
My fav artists are: Sinead (of course), Erasure, T.Chapman, Lori Carson,
Natalie Merchant, S.Mclachlan, portishead, some Bjork and T.T d'Arby.
My favourite Sinead songs are Last day of our... and You made me the
thief...( this onebest played live)
At the moment I'm listening a lot "Ode to BIllie joe".I find it wonderful.
It's nice to to know that there are people in the net still interested in
"knowing" and not only sharing opinions without any idea of the person on
the other face of the screen.
I once met Sinead here in italy to the gospel oak tour, she's a lovely
person.

All this Mother B thing leaves me astonished I don't knw what to think about
it.
I shared my opinions few days ago and now it's time to let the music speak
for her.
Yesterday I got some sinead rarities ( my heart belongs to daddy, jump in
the river with Karen finley) and I'm enjoying them so that I don't have much
time to spend on her " reliogious persuasion"
ciao

Alex

I am 25 years old and will be starting my first year of law school at
Georgia State Univ in Atlanta in August. I do not subscribe to any
organized religion. In fact, I am very disappointed that Sinead (being
the
free thinker that she is) has chosen to become part of a religion that
has
such a conformist and rigid ideology. I felt like I knew her through
her
music and now I am not so sure. Anyway, I am sure enuff has been spoken
on
that topic. As far as other music...I love all styles...Radiohead,
Chemical
Brothers, any of the invisible scratch pickles, Beastie Boys,
Sub-Humans...the list goes on. My fave Sinead songs are: I am
stretched on
your grave, Thank you for hearing me, and the last day of our acquaintance.

Okay, I wanna play, too!

I am a 23 y/o male (yip, gay gay gay!)

I live in Florida, where I work as an airplane pilot. I also am pursuing
a Master of Science in Aviation (MSA) degree from Florida Tech in case I
decide not to go "airlines."

I am not really a drinker (I am weird enough sober), and I despise all
drugs.

I was raised Catholic, and have recently become embarassed about having
been confirmed by that hypocritical bunch of....now I just think that God
is Love and Love is in everyone; that's the only true religion. Remember
the line "God's Inside You!"???

I love Petit Poulet, Thief of Your Heart, This is to Mother You, Troy,
Fire on Babylon, My Man's Gone Now....I could go on forever.

I like mostly women singers: Patty Loveless, Melissa Etheridge, Reba
McEntire, B-52s, Garbage.

I didn't wanna do this, but it seems that some of you have a real
interest (as opposed to a couple of years ago, when this kinda
thing resulted in ugly fights on what the mailing list is for), so here
it goes:
I am Suse. Mostly straight female. I am originally from East
Berlin, Germany. I call Berlin as well as London my homes. Have
lived in Alabama, U.S.A., and now live in New Zealand. I am
studying toward my Ph.D. in Sociology focusing on Environmental
Impact Assessment.
Although, I hold some spirituality, I completely deny the existence
of any superior being, and strongly believe in the wrongness of
organised religion. (Sorry.) Politically, I am pretty left wing.
Drugs? What's that? ;-)
Music: My musical heroes and heroines include: Sinead, Nick
Cave (I am still not sure whether The Boatman's Call or TLATC is
my all time favourite album), John Cale, John Lennon, Jeff Buckley.
Also: Patti Smith, Iggy Pop, David Bowie, Stereolab, Portishead,
and many others. I love to dance to 80s music (Soft Cell, Depeche
Mode, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Bronski Beat, Culture Club, that
sort of thing), and I looooove raves!
Favourite Sinead song: Still Listening, Troy, Empire, Ode to Billy
Joe, Sacrifice, the complete Lion and the Cobra, most of I Do Not
