I have a question about some sort of a cd-single I found once. I was
living in South Florida soon after the release of Universal Mother, and
I went into a store and saw some type of promo or cd-single or something
by Sinéad, but I can't remember anything that was on it. The only thing
I do remember is that it seemed to have some sort of colored pencil
drawing on the cover (perhaps remotely similar to the Universal Mother
cover). It MAY have been Thank You for Hearing Me, but I don't really
think it was. Does anyone know anything about what this was? I believe
it was imported from England, and it was priced at about US$11. I still
kick myself for not getting it when I had the chance. I've become a
much more serious collector since then, and I'd never make the same
mistake again!

Ben.

Hey Axlotl! In my opinion, this soundtrack is worth buying. The
Sinead/U2 song rocks. And the other tracks are ones I enjoy listening to.
I often play this soundtrack at the coffee shop where I work because it
adds diversity to my otherwise all-female music choices. I love the song
"Everytime I Try" by Spain and there are also several really cool
instrumental tracks. If you buy it, make sure you pick up the SOUNDTRACK
and not the SCORE. There are two End of Violence cds: on is entirely
instrumental; no Sinead.

hi pple of jitr,

hey, i've just gotten an advance copy of the avengers soundtrack, and
it's official: sinead's track with ashtar command is called 'Summer's
End'. (yes, with apostrophe.)

i checked the credits, and the music is written by chris holmes and
brian liesgang, and lyrics by sinead. interestingly, the track is
produced by marius de vries, who worked with bjork extensively before.
(the bjork link can be seen also in annie lennox's cover of an old
sugarcubes song, 'Mama'.)

don't know whether 'Summer's End' is the first single or not, but let me
check with warner music....

kai chai.

Hello,

Yesterday I got my "Ghost of Oxfordstreet" so I thought my collection was
complete aagin, but because of a holliday I hadn't read all the JITRs, and
it looks like someone found 2 new songs, though....looks like;

Alpha Blondy & The Wailers with Sinead - Jerusalem.....

All I could find was an album entitled "Jerusalem" containing this song;

Length: 46 minutes
Genre: Reggae
Original Release Date: 1988
Engineer: Gary Sutherland
Producer: Alpha Blondy
Personnel: Alpha Blondy (vocals), Earl "Chinna" Smith, Owen "Dready" Reid
(rhythm guitars), Junior Murvin (lead guitar), David Madden, Calvin
"Bubbles" Cameron, Glen Da Costa (horns), Georges Kouakou, Earl "Wire"
Lindo (keyboards), Aston "Family Man" Barrett (bass), Carlton Barrett
(drums), Sticky and Skully (percussion), Lorna Wairwright, Marcia "Pinky"
Higgs, Dahlia Lyons, Georgia "Pat" Higs, Olive "Senya" Grant (background
vocals)Additional engineers: Anthony "Youth" Kelly, Solgie
Hamilton.Recorded at Tuff Gong Studios, Kingston, Jamaica. All songs written
and arranged by Alpha Blondy.

So no mention of Sinead at all......
It might be Alpha Blondy's version of Jerusalem, which would explain why
it's creditted to Alpha Blondy and Sinead.
To the person who found those; please tell me on which online store you
found this info.

--------------------

Stolen Hearts

All I found is the (to some of us already known from the past) OST to this
movie with the track "Haunted" which is a duet between Sinead and Shane
McGowan.

Again; Where did you find the info about "Dark Horse"

Hi
I don't suppose anyone taped Stephen Fry's new radio show on Radio 4
last Saturday (1st August 1998)? Apparently Sinead was the musical
guest and she performed live as well as taking part in a
discussion/interview. I found this out last night and am clutching at
straws. Can anyone help?
Mandy

Hello,

I just got my Avengers Soundtrack including Sinead/Ashtar's duet
"Summers End". So the song is quicker then the real summer's end (end of
the summer) to clearify for Mandy (about the 2 different Summer Ends ;-))

I got it in a normal store so it's been released.

If you can't find it or order it ofcourse I can help you. (Though the price
is here $20 so you must be really in need for it ;-)))

I will make an RealAudio file of it and place it somewhere on line and let
you know where.
(within some minutes it will be online)

i'm sure this is all just a mistake. "jerusalem" is a song by alpha blondy
which has nothing to do with sinead's version.

Hi
It's a new radio show on BBC Radio 4 on Saturday evening at 6.15pm -
HOWEVER!!!!!!I MISSED IT :-( My flat-mate told me about it AFTER the
fact (AARRGGHH!). She sang 1 song live and then she did a short
interview and took part in a discussion - the show was 45 minutes long
and I'm TRYING to obtain a copy from a contact/friend who works for the
BBC, but it's a long shot. Will keep you posted.

Hi
I was watching a trailer for BBC1's "Inside Story" (a documentary
series, last night's was about an American schoolteacher who had an
affair with her 13 year old pupil and was consequently accused of rape)
when I noticed that the background music to said trailer was Ghostland's
"Guide Me God". It's good to see that someone's switched on at the BBC
;)

Hi, Johnnie! I just bought A Song for Eurotrash last week. While the cd
is pretty cool, the Sinead track in particular SUCKS! Only buy it if you
can get it cheap, or if you're a ruthless collector. Better yet, get
HELP, if you don't have it already (it's a few years old). It was another
various artists cd she appears on singing Ode to Billy Joe, and it's an
amazing performance!

Hello,

"Choas and disorder" in the new (coming) releases, here's a list to
clearify the list (correct me if I'm wrong);

1) An older release from 1991, but never noticed till a few weeks ago;
The Gost Of Oxford Street - Various Artists
This cd contains a longer version of Silent Night compared to other
released versions.

2) Released a few weeks ago;
Sunhouse - CrazyOnTheWeekend
This album contains the song Hard Sun with Sinead's vocals.

3) Released a few weeks ago;
Ghostland - Ghostland
Contains the songs with Sinead "Blue", "Guide Me God" and "Your Time Will
Come"

3) Just released;
OST The Avengers - Various Artists
This cd contains Sinead & Ashtar Command song - Summer's End
There was assumed to be another song included also but that was cut of.
(BTW; the booklet mentions; "The Avengers; The Movie songbook is available
from Warner Bros. Publications." Maybe this contains the other song ???)

4) To be released soon;
Donal Lunny - ???
It seems Donal Lunny will release a new album soon, and it is known that it
might contain "Danny Boy" sung by Sinead. Possible title of the album "Cool
Fin"

5) To be released somtimes;
Davey Spillane - ???
It's said Davey's recording a new album and one of the songs included on it
is the song Sinead already performed several times live "Dreaming Of The
Bones".

Other albums released by others containing Sinead since 1995 where;

1995 - Various Artists - Help - song; Ode To Billy Joe
1995 - Abdel Ali Slimani - Mraya - song; Mraya
1995 - Various Artists - Ain't Nothing But A She Thing - song; Mna Na h
Eireann
1995 - Various Artists - Common Grounds - song; On Raglan Road
1995 - The Chieftains - The Long Black Veil - songs; The Foggy Dew / He
Moved Through The Fair

1996 - Rick Wright - Broken China - songs; Reaching for the rail /
Breakthrough
1996 - Various - OST Michael Collins - song; Easter Rebellion / She Moved
Through The Fair

1997 - Various - OST The End Of Violence - song; I'm Not Your Baby
1997 - Various - Live On Letterman - song; Have I told you Lately That I
love you?
1997 - Various - Diana-Tribute - song; Make Me A Channel Of Your Peace
1997 - Various - Gael Force - song; Thank You For Hearing Me (Live)

1998 - Various - OST The Butcher Boy - song; Butcher Boy
1998 - Various/Chieftains - Long Journey Home - song; Skibbereen
1998 - Various - A Song For Eurotrash - song; All Kinds Of Everything

As you see last years only Various Artists albums and with the exeption of
Diana all where soundtracks one way or the other...... So keep checking new
OST's !!!!!

Hello,

I've recently returned from a long trip to Ireland and England, and I
now possess some very excellent items which I may be willing to trade or
sell. This is what I have:

Silent Night cassette-single (note this is cassette, not cd)
   1.Silent Night
2.Irish Ways and Irish Laws - live in Holland
(UK: ENYMC 652)

This has exactly the same songs as the cd-single, and both songs are
recorded on both sides of the cassette. This is one of my favorite
recordings by Sinéad. She seems to have slightly altered some of the
notes, and there are very subtle background keyboards by Peter Gabriel.
This is very rare, and it is in good condition.

Three Babies cd-single
   1.Three Babies
   2.Damn Your Eyes
   3.Troy - live in London
   4.The Value of Ignorance
(UK: ENYCD 635)

This is in very excellent condition. This is probably my favorite
Sinéad single, because the b-sides are so good. Unfortunately, there
were very few produced, and it is quite rare. Damn Your Eyes is sort of
jazzy and interesting, but it's Troy and The Value of Ignorance that
make it so great. Her rendition of Troy has no instruments besides the
guitar she plays herself, and it is extremely intense and fiery: truly
vintage Sinéad. I LOVE The Value of Ignorance. I think Roman has these
songs on his web page (www.sinead-oconnor.com) if you want to check them
out (be warned that there is some colorful language in these songs). Oh
yeah, one more thing: I love the sleeve on this single: the background
is white, and there are three beautiful angles of Sinéad's face, which
looks quite fair and angelic.

Okay, sorry about being so wordy... I really love all these singles.
Last of all:

Fire On Babylon cd-single (BRAND NEW, STILL IN ORIGINAL PLASTIC
PACKAGING)
   1.Fire On Babylon
   2.I Believe In You
   3.House of the Rising Sun
   4.Streets of London
(US: 7243 8 58259 2 7)

This and Three Babies are my very favorite cd-singles. I could rave
about this one forever. House of the Rising Sun is definitely the
highlight for me; it starts out very, very quiet and then becomes very
intense and emotional. This is the perfect cover song for Sinéad (all
three of the b-sides are cover songs). I Believe In You is a Bob Dylan
song. I would call this cd-single an "essential," because it's almost
like an EP all its own, and has a unique sound that's different from her
albums. I have a friend who listens to it more than any of the regular
albums! It has never been opened. It has a silver factory seal on the
case, and it's covered in the original plastic wrapping--a very rare and
amazing find.

Alright, here's the deal: More than anything else, I would really like
to trade these to gain possession of:

*Mandinka cd-single (UK: ENYCD 611 or GER: 659712-211)
   1.Mandinka
   2.Drink Before the War
   3.Mandinka (instrumental dub version)
   4.Still Listening
*Jump in the River cd-single (UK: ENYCD 618)
1.Jump in the River (duet with Karen Finley)
   2.Jump in the River (7")
   3.Never Get Old (live version)
*Don't Cry For Me Argentina, part 2 of a 2 CD set (UK: CDENY 657)
   1.Don't Cry For Me Argentina
   2.Ave Maria
   3.Scarlet Ribbons (live)

I will trade any of the items I mentioned straight across for the
Mandinka or Jump in the River cd-singles. The Don't Cry For Me
Argentina single isn't quite as important to me, so I wouldn't trade it
straight across, but I would be willing to make a negotiation. Please
e-mail me at bengriffin@hotmail.com if you have any of the three items I
want and would be interested in trading for what I have. Also let me
know what condition your things are in.

If I can't manage to trade these items, I would be willing to sell them.
Whatever I don't trade, I'll sell to whoever makes me the best offer (if
I don't get any good enough offers, I reserve the right to keep my
items!). So if you have an offer, please e-mail me at
bengriffin@hotmail.com. If I get a good enough cash offer, I may opt
for that instead of a trade, because my trip has left me with monstrous
credit card bills... So please have pity on me and make a good offer!!

For security purposes I will send everything I sell or trade by U.S.
Registered Mail, and I expect anyone I trade with to do the same (at
least the most secure method their country offers). If you live outside
the U.S., I'll ask you to pay a little extra to cover the additional
shipping costs.

That's it! Thanks!

Ben.

Well, it looks like our votes counted for something!

Sinead came in 2nd place (Hanson was 1st) in the Spin cover contest. In
case you're wondering, Spin magazine had a contest to see who the
readers most wanted to see on their cover. I asked everyone on this
list to cast a vote for Sinead. I wonder how many of us voted? Anyway,
I was pretty psyched. Just wanted to share the good news.

Peace.

hi clarke,

i confess: i didn‘t vote -- it slipped my mind completely!

still, it's nice to know that our lady came in second. how many people
actually voted for her? plus, can you tell us who else are on the roll
of honour, ie who did sinead beat? any reasons/comments given as to why
sinead was chosen?

any info is greatly appreciated.

thanks, kai chai.

hi pple of jitr,

two things:

1) just checked with warner music and the fella said the first single
off the avengers soundtrk is, alas, NOT 'summer's end', but 'i am' by
suggs! i asked abt the b-sides, but info is not available at this stage.
oh well. let's cross our fingers, nonetheless.

2) have been harbouring this nagging thought for some time, but i've
never really shared with anyone else on jitr, 'cos it'd come across like
i've completely gone bonkers... but i'll take my chances:

i've listened to 'summer's end' countless times, and i distinctively
hear a guy's voice mixed somewhere in the background somewhere 3/4 in
the track.

the same phenom can be seen also in sinead's recent tracks, from 'fire
on babylon' to '4 my love'. is it john reynolds' voice? if so, does it
have anything to do with sinead's belief of the male + female elements
being in harmony, or something like that? what's the significance?

also, did anybody detect another voice -- very soft but still lucid to
this pair of ears -- in the "la las” climax of 'red football'? it sounds
like sinead's voice, going "oh no”.

i haven't read abt this anywhere in any review or in the land of
jitr.... am i hearing voices like poor sybil?!

sanefully yours,
kai chai.

I would like to thank Roman, indeed on his homepage you have the meaning to
order on Music Blvd. I'm very happy because this way I have ordered 2
records I could not haver since years ( Jah Wobble " Rising above Beddmant,
BTW to Eduard :I have it now ;-) and Peace together ( I only had the Be
still single )" It's very easy to order , and very fast ( in just one week
!). You can trust Music Blvd, and I advise you to do it. To those who
haven't " Help" you can find on this page too. And to those who have not the
complete Set list of the songs on Help album, mailme and I can send it on
your e-mail.
Thanx a lot Roman.

Hi jitr,

I have The Colourfield's 'She' 12" single with 'Monkey in Winter'
(vocals by Sinead) on it and I'd like to trade it for a cd single. As
far as I know, 'Monkey in Winter' can only be found on this particular
single. I have very few singles of Sinead's, so I am quite open for
this trade. I would love 'Three Babies.' If you're interested in this
item, please e-mail me.

Also, I have been looking for the 'Michael Collins' soundtrack now for
quite some time with no luck. I have not even seen it new. Has anyone
else had this problem?

Thanks,
Sara

Here is the entire paragraph titled 'Sound-Off'...

Our call for Spin cover recommendations galvanized the Chainsaw Kittens
online fan club. They managed to run neck-and-neck with the Pope-hating
Sinead O'Connor for the second-most-requested cover. No big surprise is
the popularity of those flaxen miniatures, Hanson, who received the most
votes. catwoman_124@hotmail.com hit us right in the pocketbook with her
logic: "I live in Australia and Spin costs like $17 so that would be like
$32US and if you did put Hanson on the cover-you'd make millions!" As if
that were important to us.

BTW....there is also a small picture of her on page 90 for the Lilith Fair
Portland review, but I'm not sure how to interpret their comments about
Sinead. The paragraph concerning her is as follows:

In Portland, Sinead O'Connor, chanting a capella for one song and bursting
a New Age intro on another, seemed willing to go with the program.
O'Connor and Lilith creator Sarah McLachlan both broke through in the early
'90s, but their careers have since gone in different directions: O'Connor
weathering diminished sales and controversy, McLachlan harvesting holy
victimhood for ever-larger crowds. They played at opposite ends of Lilith,
O'Connor opening the fair, as if to get the angriest girl on and off before
rage deflated all the beach balls. jesus is coming-look busy, her T-shirt
read, and she got busy in a short set that examined the trials that led to
rapture. Soon came the diva deities, however, and rapture was all.

It sounds to me like they are saying her set was just ok compared to those
that followed (Natalie & Sarah). It's kind of a good/bad review to me.
What do you all think?

Peace.

Clarke

hi clarke & folks of jitr,

REF: REVIEW OF LILITH FAIR, PORTLAND in SPIN

you're right. clarke. the tone of the SPIN article seems double-edged,
but after re-reading it several times, i feel it favours sinead.

i could be wrong, but i don’t think the writer thinks sinead's
performance was “just OK.” au contraire. the fact that he bothers to
review sinead's gig and sort of lumps the rest of the lilith fair
artists together, suggests he feels that sarah mclachlan & co may be
“all rapture,” but they ultimately lack bite. in particular, the phrase
“McLachlan harvesting holy victimhood for ever-larger crowds” is, ouch,
extremely cutting, no?

nevertheless, the writer commits the age-old problem of persistent
pigeonholing/projection. he seems to want sinead to be this eternally
angry girl, all rage and controversy-hungry, going around "deflating
beach balls."

just my two cents,
kai chai.

Hello,

Message to the person willing to trade Monkey In Winter.....

DON'T TRADE THAT ONE !!!!!
Three Babies is not worth a trade against this item, keep it Monkey In
Winter is 10x better, and rarer then Three Babies is. Three Babies will
show up for you somewhere.
Three Babies can be found within a year (at least here in Holland) by
visiting record conventions, you will never find Monkey In Winter again.
I am ALMOST willing to trade my Three Babies for your Monkey In winter,
because I am sure I could make a lot of money with it. But that's not
fair.....

PLEASE DO NOT TRADE IT !!!
You will hate yourself in some years !!

Dear Jitr,

I for one am uncertain about how I feel about Sinead being on the cover =
of SPIN. I'm all for Sinead getting as much exposure as possible. =
Although, in weird way, I kinda simultaneously enjoy being a Sinead fan =
when few others are. Sinead is just so amazing. I sometimes feel like =
we're in on some kind of musical secret. Its funny.=20

Anyhow, back to SPIN. What a gross magazine. I picked it up for the =
first time at work to check out last month's issue. After flipping =
through a few pages I felt embarrassed that I would be caught reading =
such a lousy magazine. And when a co-worker did approach me asking what =
I was reading I felt I had to justify it by telling him that I was =
looking for a Sinead interview. But I couldn't get through the article =
at work. So thanx! A lot! Dana for typing it out. I actually really =
enjoyed the article itself. I guess I primarily object to the visual =
layout of the magazine. I mean, there were just so many pictures. Big, =
Bold, Ugly, In Your Face, Rude, pics. I just couldn't handle it. It was =
like an image overload. Also, I kind of felt insulted by it in a way, as =
if the layout editor assumed I needed the pictures to compensate for my =
poor attention span.=20

As well, I have seen SPIN covers in the past. And they are always so =
ugly. I wouldn't want the mag using a lousy Sinead pic.=20

Anyhow,=20

Whatever, don't mind this message. That magazine just totally freaked me =
out.=20

Later,

Bilal

p.s. Does anyone else feel this way as well?

hi pple of jitr,

some sinead trivia to cheer you up. was surfing “aimlessly” again, but
managed to unearth this nugget. apparently, greg dulli, the lead singer
of the cleveland band, listed gospel oak as one of his 1997’s top ten
albums.

here’s the full text from <http://www.allstarmag.com>:
			_____________________________________

allstar 1997 ARTIST TOP 10 LISTS
Today's Guests: Afghan Whigs/Twilight Singers' Greg Dulli And The Muff's
Kim Shattuck

We asked a bunch of musicians-- some big, some not so big-- to list
their Top 10 favorite albums of this year, in the hope that this may
shed some light on their taste, their character, and maybe even the year
in music. One warning: some artist choices may not actually be albums;
some may not have actually been released in '97; some may even be so
obscure that we can't possibly confirm their existence. Whatever.
They're artists. Peruse at your own risk.

The Afghan Whigs/Twilight Singers' Greg Dulli

       1. Janet Jackson, The Velvet Rope
       2. Rammstein, Sehnsucht
       3. Notorious B.I.G., Life After Death
       4. Spiritualized, Ladies & Gentlemen, We Are Floating In Space
       5. Sinead O'Connor, Gospel Oak EP
       6. Pigeonhed, The Full Sentence
       7. Jimi Hendrix, South Saturn Delta
       8. Wyclef Jean, The Carnival
       9. Brad, Interiors
       10. Fatboy Slim, Better Living Through Chemistry”

that’s all, folks. enjoy yr weekend!

Today I bought in a store a lot of vinyl and sigle CDs for YOU!!!
I know some of them are seeking hardly for some Cds , but I paid them a
fortune ;-).
I won't earn money by selling them to but I will sell them to the price I
paid and the shipping will be to your charge, of course.

Prices are in French Francs ( 1$=5.30 about )

*Famine in vinyl " Extended version" and "Mbeat remix" 100 FF

*The emperor's new clothe "Promo copy" vinyl ( Album version + 7" version+I
am stretched "night untill morning dub/earthapella+ applebrightness mix)
:150FF

* Fire on Babylon vinyl ( remix edit+ remix of 13'27"+ 2 Lp version): 150
FF

CD single:

My special child : 150 FF ( all new, with plastic film protection still!!)

Mandinka ( with still listening) :150 FF

But I let the best to the last...I don't for the moment I will sell it, it's
never heard remix of NOTHING COMPARES 2U for the DJ. I can unhappily listen
to it because I have only CD player, the remix is called 3ciompare yourself
and see mix by Steve smith / slow intro )
This copy is still new too because under film protection .
As anyone already heard about this version ?

In Reply to Bruno mail about the Nothing Compares 2 U (remix);

The 12" with this remix is fun to have for completists, but ain't an legit
release but it also ain't an illegal release :-) It's a remix made by a DJ
and is NOT related to Sinead or the record company. The DJ neither needed
allowance to make this remix, simply because the DJ made this mix to be
played on parties by him and other DJ's. So far it's legit. But ofcourse
such an 12" will not be played anymore on a sudden point, officially he may
not sell it. He has too keep it, give it to others or destroy it. Ofcourse
he won't if someone offers money for it. And that's where it starts
appearing in the collector's scene.
Sometimes those DJ-remixes are very good, I do have some 12" of DJ-remixes
of priince songs and they're great, but 90% of those remixes are BS. The
greater ones become to get high asking prices, almost like a official rare
item. Just because it's a very limited release and every collector wants it.
There exists some clubs of DJ's who release a album or 12" every month with
remixes of the latest dance hits. One of those clubs is called DMC. This is
one of the better remix clubs, their releases are very good ones. They
don't sell the records in stores (as said that's not allowed, but you have
to become a member of this club to get the releases every month).

So far the facts about this release.

How about Sinead's NC2U remix ?
It's a mix of the album track with some extra beats/echos/noise/his all
kinds of effects are used in it. I will try to find my tape with it and
place it online, decide yourself wether you like it or not.

Hello,

Forget my marketplace !!!
There's a much better one online.
Visit www.ebay.com and you'll find a trading/bidding/selling place with all
kinds of stuff including music/sinead. At the moment there are about 18
items. Make your bid and hope for the best. A great page where you can sell
and buy your items with a bidding system.

I am not connected to them so don't know about any reliability.

Hi all of you!!

I've subscrived your mailing list since last week. It's great to
know that so many people all over the world loves Sinead's music.

I'm writting to you because I feel sad:

I'm sad because I can't hear Sinead here in Spain.
I'm sad becase since she tored the popes' photo she has been hidden
from my eyes and ears.
I'm sad because local radio doesn't play music every people would
like to hear, but that which people should pay for.
I'm sad because we think we are free. We are free to think (who
knows what we are thinking???) but not to express what we think.

And I'm very sad because this is not a problem just from Spain, but
a worldwide problem.

I've never heard of someone singing with the heart as she does.

	Cheers!!
Marcos Palomares

I would like like to propose you this remix on a CD . I will do it for 10$
( including shipping and the CD). I will do this to a limited list of people
.
Be the first to order. I advise you this is not a piece of master among the
existing remixes, but it's very hard to find anyway.

Shortly after Sinead released NC2U the clubs here in Jacksonville were playing a
dance version of the song. It was an excellent version of the song. The singer
was male and it was similar to the California Dreaming remix from around that
same time (if any of you remember that). I don't know who the artist was, but
they played it on a regular basis for several months. I haven't heard it in
years though. I really miss dancing to it. Sorry for the lack of info.

Peace.

Hi
FINALLY!!!!.... The Avengers' Soundtrack was officially released in the
UK yesterday and last night was my first opportunity to listen to
Sinead's contribution with Ashtar Command. I'm not sure how many other
people on the list have heard this song yet, but I hazard a guess that
it can't be many, considering the lack of response. With the exception
of Kai Chai's comments, no-one else has bothered to review it, let alone
express their feelings about this song. "Summer's End" is a wondrous
track, reminiscent in many ways of Sinead's work with Jah Wobble, and by
far the best piece of collaborative work Sinead has ever recorded. One
of the first things I noticed was the welcome return to form of the
strength of Sinead's vocals (last heard on The End Of Violence's "I'm
NOT Your Baby"). The electronica of Ashtar Command and Sinead's emotive
lyrics and vocals complement each other perfectly. I would DEARLY love
to hear more of Sinead with Ashtar Command, because I'm convinced
something special happened in the studio when they recorded this piece.
Imagine what a whole album COULD sound like?? We've only heard snippets
of info about Sinead's next full-length album, but I, for one, hope that
Ashtar Command get in on the act and add a new, textured take on
Sinead's sound. Btw, if anyone could send me any additional info re
Ashtar Command, I'd be grateful :-)
All the best
Mandy

Hi
Just called East West here in London. Sadly, "Summer's End" will not be
released in the UK/Europe as a single (as confirmed earlier by Kai
Chai), however the person I spoke to has promised to call Atlantic
Records in NYC later today and ask about the disappearance of "Emma's
Song" from the Soundtrack and it's possible re-emergence sometime in the
future. If and when I get more feedback, I'll be sure to let you all
know.

exreemly well produced. Many layers of sound and voice stacked.
Its similar to Emporer i thought the guitar and keybboard dada dada

so jsut so you know peoplehave listened but probably aren't confident
enough to review the songs I thouight I'd have a go for the masses
The rest of the album is really really good - Grace Jones track is

Hi there
& thanks for your input. Just by way of clarification...I wasn't
berating the list in my earlier mail for not having reviewed Summer's
End, I was simply incredulous that, of the people who have already heard
the song, hardly anyone was moved enough to comment on it. I ADORE THIS
TRACK - IT'S ONE OF SINEAD'S BEST (SO FAR...;))

Ok, it needs to be said. A lyrical formulation such as this should insult
the intelligence of any sober mind past the age of 12. I think it cloys .
Furthermore, somebody whom she respects should sit on her or, at least,
revoke her qoutidian dope smoking privileges until she puts forth a more
serious effort ;0) Aside from this, her voice sounds fantastic as does the
rest of the song.

Hello, Hello, HELLO
Well, I promised to get back to you all re the
disappearance/re-emergence of Emma's Song, so here goes:-
Sinead did indeed write Emma's Song for the soundtrack but decided, last
minute, to save the song for her new album. Which means, of course,
that we'll definitely get to hear it - albeit belatedly ;)
Re Summer's End - unfortunately East West do not possess the publishing
rights to release this as a single and the B-side to Suggs' release will
be other tracks from the soundtrack album.
Hope this helps
Best wishes
Mandy

Hello,

I know this ain't Sinead related, but I had to tell you;
Yesterday went to a Prince concert which was superb and lasted 2,5 hours (3
days earlier he played for 3,5 hour in Spain).
After that he went to a small club in town and did an aftershow (mini
concert) for just 700 people, and I was one of the lucky ones who got in.
(Imagine being a fan (hard I know) and standing in line, which is infact
already luck because those aftershows aren't really announced and you're
finally at the entrance and they say; Sorry we're full !!! This happend to
100s of people ;-))) Not Me ;-))))))

For the ones who really want a Sinead relation;
He played "Nothing Compares 2 U" and as much as I like Sinead's version,
his own version is 10x better. (He originally wrote it for The Family which
was a Prince "try-out band", and their version is terrible)
Funny to know that within 2 months I saw this song performed live by Prince
and Sinead.
Maybe they should start a duet ;-) knowing the woman where Prince recorded
the duet with has died about 2 years ago, and knowing Sinead seems to have
no problems with singing it these days.

Hello,

The word's being spread that there is a possibility that Sinead will do a
set when the Lilith Fair gets to London at the Albert Hall near the end of
September.

So London/UK citizen keep checking the newspapers !
