Good Evening,
Since this medium has been used to convey information on various
artists, I ask the same as well. Does anyone have any information on the
group called One 2 Many? A&M Records, the company that published their
music, does not print anymore of their records. The album I am looking
for is called Mirror (possibily Mirrors). If at all possible check for
this album. There is supposed to several copies of the group out but
even Cdnow has no clue on the location of any of the albums. I am trying
to find this on a cd preferably. Thank you for any help that you may
give.

Good Afternoon jitr,

Yesterday,
Stressed to the point of almost no return,
Unable to produce
Or internalize
Even the slightest
Tidbit of information,
I got up
And left my books.

One must know where to draw the line in pursuit of the A, lest they
graduate not with a university degree but with a certification of their
lunacy.

And so, in a most therapeutic stroll in the literature section of the
University of Winnipeg Library I found comfort, reveling in its silence,
its utter stillness and its serenity. Perusing the promise filled and
challenging titles at leisure, I chanced upon one which I knew would prove
to be of interest. It read,

Ireland's Women
Writings Past and Present

Katie Donovan, A. Norman Jeffares and Brendan Kennelly

Checking the index immediately, my expectations were affirmed. O'Connor,
Sinead p. 147. In this anthology of womens fiction, non-fiction (I
assume), poetry and song was included Sinead's Last Day Of Our
Acquaintance. I couldnt but help smiling.

The wonderful thing that I believe we can infer from this is that Sinead
is taken seriously as a writer. And I think that is oh so wonderful.

Later,

Bilal

I already bought the Rolling Stones 30 anniversary, she is brilliant, and
her story is really about her. I think thay did the right way saying about
Sinead but , sometimes they are missing important moments.isn't it?

Just saw Sinead interviewed on something called "First Cut", which looks like
a syndicated U.S. pop music show produced by the local NBC affiliate in San
Francisco (KRON-TV, Chronicle Broadcasting). It was a nice positive
interview, and appears to have been taped when Sinead was in San Francisco
(August?) since the stock tape footage of "Sinead now" showed her at the
Warfield, with fans outside, etc. (I missed those shows since I was on the
East Coast at a wedding, alas.)

Look for it if First Cut is shown in your area.

Yes, that's exactly how I felt, but then again, maybe the entire magazine
could have been written about her and I still wouldn't be satisfied. I
want to get into her mind for 15 minutes....

Hello everyone,
I already bought the Rolling Stones 30 anniversary, she is brilliant, and
her story is really about her. I think thay did the right way saying about
Sinead but , sometimes they are missing important moments.isn't it?

Hey!

Sinead has had a pierced nose for a long time now, she doesn't often wear
it. It's on the left side in case anyone wanted to know.

Thank you for the translation!

Does anyone know what all these new albums coming out will be called? I
know her "greatests hits" are coming to US in 1998... unsure of others.

Thanks
Holli

This may have been mentioned here before -- if so, sorry for the repeat.

Sinead taped an interview (and a couple of live songs, I think) at KCRW radio
(San Francisco, I think) for their "Morning Becomes Eclectic" program in
August. The host of the show is the same guy who interviewed her on "Sessions
At West 54th". You can hear it at:

http://www.liveconcerts.com/listening/kcrw/

You need Real Audio to play the concert.

I tried to listen to it but I am having trouble with my hookup -- any
technical types who have ideas on how I can shield my system from the radio
station transmitter two blocks away, please write. I pick up the damn radio
on my computer speakers.

Hello everyone,

I need some verifications on some hard to find information:

What is:
A lithee ?
A lithee swell?
Where is Sudla?
Where is Sud el Bar?
Who wrote "Foggy Dew?"
What is Easter tide specifically?
What is Savoury Fleadh?
Do the Chieftains have a similar song with some other singer, or by
themselves?

Thank you very much.

Btw, this is one of my favourite songs. Actually, that's incorrect, I
just like a whole lot, not necessarily more than the other songs. It s
just really different in a really wonderful way.

Bilal

Hi there!!!
I'd like to know those answers as well but two of them I can tell you:
1) it's a traditional Irish song about the uprising in Easter 1916;
2) I guess the right words are:
"for SLAVERY FLED, oh, glorious dead,
when you fell in the foggy dew".

see you!

Isn't Fleadh a Gaelic word meaning feast or festival?

Hello all,

Thanx a lot for the help. It is appreciated. I guess i should have
probably found the lyrics in that zip file Mars-L prepared. But if
anyoone knows where Sudla and Sud el Bar(no history majors here?) are, I
am still curious. or if you can even point me in the right direction,
that'd be great.

What is:
A lithee ?
A lithee swell?

i believe she is singing Liffey, not lithee. The Liffey is a river in
Ireland. It runs through Dublin. The Liffey swells, i guess are waves.

and easter-tide is just another way of saying easter time, kind of like
saying yuletide for christmas.

don't know the rest...

Hi Bilal, Hi all
Angelus is a latin word. It is the beginning of a prayer that catholics
are meant to say every day in the morning, at noon and in the evening. The
angelus bells are the bells that are rung at these times to announce the
prayer.
Have a nice day.
Sophie
PS your good morning makes me laugh..... it's 7 pm here !

would someone please let me know the track list(s).
i was in my local record establishment last week to inquire as to a
release date or info about it. no knowledge of said single. i told the
lad that it was to be released in europe this month. when he replied
that that being the case we here in america would not see this single
until the first of the year, most likely.
oh, well.

Good morning JITR,
About all the excitement over this page in Q (and now I can't wait to
lay my hands on this issue of Q too) and more specifically, the number
of piercings she has in her nose, couldn't it just be that she's just
got one piercing?? It may be that whoever who did the ad and retouched
the picture simply flipped the photograph (into a mirror image) on his
computer-- so that the text fits better and all that. I haven't seen the
picture myself, so I won't know.
Now I've got myself really confused-- is the picture in question the one
inside RollingStones or Q?

Greetings all,
Although I have not been able to see the PBS Sessions at 54th broadcase
with Sinead, I have noticed the company does have a web page which talks
about Sinead's performance.

There were also two QuikTime movies that can be played (if you have the
capability with your computer). I know that if you use MIE 4.0, you can
also SAVE the movies after you watch them.

Go see:

I have also noted that if you go to the GIVEAWAYS section of the
Sessions page, they have a FREE SINEAD screensaver available for
download.

Also, in response to Mylene who asked about Aimee Mann (it is with 2
n's), I personally feel she is wonderful. She has two solo albums and 3
albums from the 80s with the American band 'Til Tuesday (remember
"Voices Carry", that was "Til Tuesday). Very much worth a listen. I
prefer the solo "Whatever" to the new one "I'm with Stupid".

I need someone to transcribe the KCRW August 17, 1997 interview Sinead did
on Morning Becomes Eclectic.

I have some of it... I am deaf, and would love to know the rest of the
interview. Please!! I asked Mars, becuase I thought maybe he would do it,
I don't know... I asked the radio station if they had transcrips, but they
don't. Please help me.... Thanks Holli

KCRW 1997
Sinead O'Connor on Morning Becomes Eclectic
Originally recorded on Thursday, August 14, 1997

This Is To Mother You - Song

Interviewer:
This is to mother you its the lead off track of the Gospel Oak EP. New
work from Sinead O'Connor
on KCRW Morning Becomes Eclectic, I'm Chris Deradas and it's a great
plesure to have with us
Sinead O'Connor.

Sinead;
Right - laugh

I: Welcome - laugh
S: Thank you - murmur
I: You've got a show happening and the greek and no doubt these songs will
be a vital part of it.
I: You've described this EP as sort of a collection of love songs and
lullibies and hyms
S:Yeah
I: This particular song started off as a need to soothe yourself?
S: Yeah, I guess, well, in the first place it started as a love song that I
was writing to a man obviously, but then I guess, often when we fall in
love with people it reminds us of ourselves, so I noticed half way through
it that I was also talking to myself, and so there are a couple of
different levels really, they are all love songs but there also all hyms
but were I think, of my other work as being and also hymns, but as a set
of prayers, well these are a set of answers, thats what the songs are
signing to me.
I: Well your music has always been a vital part of your and specifically
your coming to terms with scars in dealing with child abuse,
S: Yeah
I: your history.
S: Yeah
I: Is this sort of like standing on a
hill???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????.

Hi...

The pictures I've seen in Rollingstone don't show her nose pierced.
I guess in the Q mag, her right side is pierced.
I have a big poster, the one were she has on a white hood, and her nose is pierced on the left in the poster.

It could be one of the images is mirrored... but which one.... :o)

The mystery continues...

Dawn

Hi all
When Sinead appeared on french tv a few days ago, she was wearing her
piercing. I'm quite sure it was on the left side, but I didn't make a video
recording..... So I may be wrong...... the mistery continues....

PS Am I the only one to think this discussion is completely ridiculous ?

After all this debate over which side Sinead's nose-ring is
on, I decided to review my tape of her performance on David
Letterman. The ring is distinctly on her left side. Now
that that is over with, I'd like to take the opportunity to
say how beautiful Sinead looks in Rolling Stone. It is
absolutely one of the best pictures I've ever seen of her.

Hello,

Weird but true according to my CD-shop....The release of cd singles (part 1
and 2) of This Is A Rebel Song has been moved to November 10th......
Weird because that's the same day as the one which is set for the So Far
The Best... (Of which yesterday was shown a TV-commercial during the
European MTV Awards.....)

And does Sinead sing in Butcher boy ???
In a recent interview Sinead mentioned that there will be a Russian remix

Hello,

As some of you know, Sinead appears as a background singer in the clip for
World Party's song "Private Revolution" (Probably the first clip of Sinead,
she looks very young with a whole lot of make-up)....
But when you listen to the album you can't hear her (at least I can't). So
I always thought Sinead just appears in the clip lipsynch the vocals of
someone else.
But it seems that she really is on this track. At least the UK magazine
Record Collector seems to mention it in one of their issues... And knowing
they're very detailed and very accurate and detailed I am 99% sure they'rer
right.
So this makes "Private Revolution" the thirth song of Sinead together with
World Party. (together with; "Haiwaiian Island World" and "Sweet Soul
Dream")

Remember the Dave Letterman CD is released or will be released soon !!!!!
It (or one of them) includes the duet "Have I Told You Lately" between Van
Morisson and Sinead !
