For those of you in the States:
There seems to be a good chance that Sinead turns up at several of Peter
Gabriel's WOMAD concerts during the next couple of weeks. Unconfirmed reports
suggest that she already appeared twice during the last couple of days.
She won't be doing more than singing backup vocals, though. However, seeing
Peter in Sinead together on stage is a very exciting experience not to be missed.
One can *see* and *feel* that there's something going on between the two.

I just hope the crowd treats Sinead with respect.

Matthias

I just saw Sinead and Peter at the WOMAD in Pittsburgh last night.
And she looked SO HAPPY! It was really nice to see. Unfortunately,
she sang only one song herself, a new one whose title escapes me. But
all in all the show was pretty good (though not nearly as intense as the
incredible Midnight Oil show a couple weeks back).

NOW you tell me! WOMAD was at Saratoga on Monday but I didn't go...

Anyway, I had a question: what was Sinead doing in LA at the MTV Video Music
Awards last week? Is he 'better' yet, or atleast recording?

Seems like Melissa Ferrick has thrown her hat into the ring of artists
that refuse to allow Seattle to hog the spotlight from Boston. I just
picked up her "Massive Blur" (first saw her with Morrisey) and have been
BLURRED. Awesome range of emotion in her songs...mucho passion. Can't
help but feel a shade of Melissa Eheridge in Ferrick's style.

So.... how do you play guitar with a dick? Do you
strum the strings with it or use it like a slide? I
always thought that guitars were played with
fingers, personally. ;-)

I wish I'd posted something about that then, so everyone would be

Hi,

I like to know whether there is any news in the air about
Sinead's next album, its release date etc. I love her last
CD `Am I not your girl?'. It has nice orchestrations and
golden songs. My favourite Sinead CD is, however, her second
one `I do not want what I haven't got'.(Are the hand-written
notes in the last two CDs written by Sinead herself?? )

Love,
Sundara.

Has anyone besides myself heard Prince's live rendition of "Nothing
Compares 2 U. It's on his newly released box set. It's a very different
approach from Sinead's. I wonder if Prince is trying to (re)claim the
song. I thought I'd wait to hear other opinions, before I offered my own.
I certainly don't want to prejudiced you.

Another thought occurred to me. With Prince trying to reclaim Nothing
Compares 2 U, it brought back memories of that legendary duel of the '80's
with Paul Young and Hall & Oates. If you remember, Paul had a very big hit
with "Everytime You Go Away". This song was a H&O album filler until Paul
turned it into gold. Shortly, after seeing it reach to the of the charts,
H&O starting performing it in concert. Both Prince & Hall & Oates did
versions that were no way near the recorded cover(s). Both took a decidely
more R&B approach. Perhaps injecting it with more "soul". I just thought
I'd like to mention that.
