You can try

It's FULL of lyrics and pictures and such, but it's hard to connect to

It's time for some news again:
Sinead collaborated with Shane MacGowan. She recorded his single
"Haunted".
Sinead is going to contribute to the soundtracks of two forthcoming
films: "Proved Innocent" (about the Cardiff Three, I think) and
"I'll Do Anything" (about an actress or something like that).

That's it for this week,

Matthias

On GLR (Greater London Radio) they said yesterday, that Sinead
collaborated with Billy Nelson (? country music) for his forthcoming
album. Bob Dylan contributed to it as well.

Sinead appeared on stage again during the _The_Mary_Janes_ concert in
Dublin. Reportedly she was singing two songs, _War_ (again) and
_The_Lord_Is_My_Shepered_.
I omit the rest of the news as it's completely irrelevant (the usual
NME gossip).

Hi all,

I picked up a biography on Sinead at my favorite record store last
weekend. It's called "Sinead O'Connor - So Different" by Dermott Hayes.
I don't know if it's been discussed before so I apologise if this is old
news. I've just read the introduction and Chapter 1 so I can't say much
about the content although I think the book is worth the price (I paid
$20) for the pictures scattered throughout. One in particular caught
my eye. Sinead looks fabulous without hair and I always suspected she'd be
even more beautiful with hair (nothing against baldness, I just like women
with hair), there's a picture in the book of Sinead with a full head of
black hair (It looks like her natural color). WOW! She looks great.
The book has a copyright of 1991 so it misses all the pope-tearing
hoopla but I'm sure it has lots of good info. Although "So Different"
is not an "offical" biography Sinead did cooperate with the author to some
extent. Anyway, here's the info on it:

Hi everybody!

Terry sez...
>... Sinead looks fabulous without hair and I always suspected she'd be
>even more beautiful with hair (nothing against baldness, I just like women
>with hair), there's a picture in the book of Sinead with a full head of
>black hair (It looks like her natural color). WOW! She looks great.

I haven't seen this book, but I'm reminded of some video footage I saw once.
It was after *some* Sinead controversy, possibly the Frank Sinatra episode.
Some people were protesting outside before one of her concerts, and she
apparently wanted to talk with them and find out more about why they were
upset. So she put on normal street clothes and a wig (not kidding!) and went
outside, and talked to the protestors for a little while. A news crew
happened to be there filming the scene, when someone noticed Sinead's slight
brogue and asked her if she was with the band. She denied it, but they
persisted, and before long her cover was blown, and she escaped.

The reason I remember this now is that I though Sinead looked really nice
with hair. Her 'disguise' hair was golden blonde, a little more than shoulder
length, and had wavy curls. I have to agree with Terry: WOW! I'm very used to
Sinead without hair by now, but I'm curious to see what she'll look like
with her hair grown out.

(Obligatory guilt over paying attention to someone's appearance and not
their politics...)

Chris

I agree with Terry about the Sinead book. Sinead must have
collaborated with the author considering all the photographs of her
when she was very young (they even have the birth certificate and
the student ID card).
Regarding the hair. Sinead's original hair colour is black as one
can see sometimes (like on the cover of the _Emperors_new_clothes CD
single). She sometimes wears a (blond) wick for whatever reason. I
remember her appearing in the _You_Do_Something_To_Me_ video with
long blond hair and I think she also did this in the movie
_Hush_A_Bye_Baby_.
The latest report of her wearing a wick is from two weeks ago
(remember my posting: I left out some information as I considered it
as gossip -- this was exactly the story with the wick which she was
wearing there again and reportedly tearing up in the end :)).
