Just thought you'd all like to know Sinead's videocassette "Year Of The
Horse" was nominated for a Grammy in the (deep breath) "Best Music Video -
Long Form, for Video Album Packages Consisting of More Than One Song or
Track, Awarded to the Artist and the Video Director/Producer" category.
The other nominees in that category are "Lifer's Group World Tour Rahway
Prison, That's It" by Lifer's Group, "Live At Yankee Stadium" by Billy
Joel, "Madonna: Blonde Ambition World Tour Live" by Madonna and "POV" by
Peter Gabriel. Interesting that they were all concert videos this year.

Yeah, I'm psyched that Sinead [and Madonna] got nominated. I'm completely
uninterested in the top categories, as long as Amy Grant doesn't win.

Anyway, I think that 'Lifers' thing is that project by Penelope Spheeris who
went into Rahway Prison in NJ and got a bunch of lifers to rap about their
lives and jow they got into prson, in an attempt to educate yuongsters who
are on the path to becoming lifers. Sort of a musical "Scared Straight". I
wouldn't call it a concert video.

I hope Sinead [or Madonna! Mostly Madonna, since she still hasn't won one
and Sinead won last year] wins a Grammy!

I also hope Mariah Carey wins Best Female Vocalist. The other nominees aren't
even CLOSE!

Since Sinead doesn't give a *#$& about the Grammies, I guess it doesn't
make a difference if she got nominated or not. And this year (besides REM)
nominations such as 'Unforgettable' really nauseated me.

What did you all think about 'Silent Night'? I'm psyched that she started
working with Peter Gabriel in the Studio, and am looking forward to when
she starts working on some new stuff of her own.

Sinead performed this in the 'movie' "The Ghosts of Oxford Street" which
was on British TV this Christmas - it also 'starred' Tom Jones, the Happy
Mondays, the Pogues and a few other people and it was *dreadful* - Sinead
was obviously lip synching very badly and the whole thing was very shoddilly
(sp?) thrown together - it was directed by Malcolm Mclaren and was yuck!

Silent Night was ok but hardly Sinead's best!

I know this is probably old hat to many of you, but I saw the British
copy of _The Lion and the Cobra_ CD. Unlike the serene, wistful?
picture of Sinead on the front of the American version, the British
copy has her in an enraged-about-to-scream pose. Check it out if
you haven't already!

I didn't know about the alternate cover til I saw it in London. It is
an amazing picture. I wonder why they used the tame Sinead in the US.
