Wilson Pickett (In the Midnight Hour, some ace stuff),
John Lydon (Psycho's Path, not bad, considering),
Womack & Womack (Family Spirit, good, typical of them),
Living Colour (Time's Up, haven't heard yet).
All old, all used. (I love CD's for that!).

All y'all lucky stiffs going to see Patti so soon:
I hope you & she & they & all have the most best time!

Happy New Year and happy "New Millenium" !

CD/tape/vinyl, single or full-length lemme know por favor!

mentioning the shows being sold out.

Was in North Beach recently and found a flyer advertising a Wayne Kramer
show (he played the Cocodrie in San Francisco on December 18th). If
anyone would like it, please e-me (however, I am going out of town from
the 29th to the 2nd of January, so I won't be getting back to anyone
until after the 2nd).

Happy New Year's, everyone, and Happy Birthday to Patti!!

I've never heard of her before. The All-Music Guide, allmusic.com,
lists 3 albums: Dirty Sings 1988, Dirty Pearl 1995, and World's
A Girl 1995.

I got Moby's 'Play' and a gift card for Tower which I turned into
'S.H.A.D.O 2', a collaboration between Higher Intelligence Agency and Pete
Namlook, on the Fax label. Not the usual fare for this list, but...while at
Tower I also bought 'Barefoot,' the Patti Tribute CD that's been mentioned
here before. I gave it a cursory listen at work yesterday, and the tracks
seem pretty faithfull to the originals, which, while there's nothing ground
breaking here, is a good thing with material this good.

I also saw that Rock She Wrote, an anthology of rock criticism by women,
which was out of print for a couple of years, has been rereleased. There's
at least one piece by Patti, and she's the cover girl.

Happy religious and pagan holidays to all. ~Francine

I wanted the honesty room, but can't be picky... I'm a sucker for anything
with good lyrics, I've realized I'll put up with some godawful music if I
like the songs... I like her though, she feels maternal...

I also got the new clash live album... and I had asked for London
Calling... and From here to eternity is baaaaaad...

yeah, I dig this list, like listening to people talk...

At St. Mark's Church-in-the Bowery....Patti and Victor Bokris on same
bill. Granted there are dozens of people reading, but it would be cool if
they followed each other. imagine the stupid fight!

Today, Patti Smith rehearsed for her show in a Manhattan studio I shan't
name. I am told it sounded good (from the next room).

Still thinking it would be cool if all the power went off right at midnight
during that show,

Cool Question!

No, but I'm going to finally be able to listen to some after I get my new
turntable tomorrow! Finally - all those old Neil Young, Doors, Dylan,
Springsteen, Joni Mitchell albums I hijacked from my parents' garage will be
listenable again! Not to mention my Blondie and Bowie on vinyl...

I was actually disappointed this year - I gave music to almost everyone I
know, but didn't get any in return. Unless you count the Best Buy gift
certificate. It's the gift that keeps on buying...

Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah & Kwanzaa to alla youse babelistas throughout
the land! Hope all going to the concerts have a wonderful time!
Warm Wishes,
XRuby

PS. Happy Birthdays to Lenny and Patti! :-)
